Top Porte de Paris Hotel Reviews

Hotel Chagnot

10/10 Excellent

"Well situated opposite the Gare (I stayed 7 nights and made many day trips by train). My room was on the 3rd floor and faced the Place de la Gare, but the double glazing meant that noise disturbance from traffic was minimal (but if you want a quiet room it may be best to ask for a room at the back facing the courtyard). I was pleased that the room had a desk. The bathroom was small but well designed. The staff (who all spoke good English) were friendly and helpful. I didn't have breakfast so can't comment on it. On my last day, I wanted to leave my luggage until the evening. This is done by using individual lockers in the receptiona area and I needed to insert 4 euros (2 x 2 euro coins) to use a large locker. It wasn't a lot of money and I didn't mind, but in more than 40 years of trevelling this is the first time a hotel has ever asked me to pay to leave my luggage for the rest of the day after checking out! But overall, the hotel was very good value."

Residence Inn by Marriott Lille

Hotel de la Paix Lille

10/10 Excellent

Montempô Lille Gares

10/10 Excellent

"Simple clean room, well located to the city and train station, and helpful friendly reception staff. Not much more you could want. Our only criticism was not having access to any drinking water for our first night. We were advised the only water was from the vending machine but there wasn’t any in there and the shops were closed until the following morning."

Hotel ibis Lille Centre Gares

8/10 Good

"The hotel is fairly well located for the SNCF station in Lille, but a bit of a walk from the Eurostar station. It's in need of an update - the rooms look like they haven't been renovated this century, but that said they aren't in terrible condition, just old and worn. The area isn't the most salubrious, but it didn't feel that unsafe either."
