The Magic Barn is quirky but incredibly cozy! We loved looking out through the skylights and enjoyed not having TV more than we thought we would. Communication was great (both in app and with info in the property. Location was perfect!

I loved it there was a fireplace a kitchen with everything you would need and a bathroom with some extras too. Such a magical place to stay in Portland.

Quiet neighborhood and close proximity to shops and restaurants on Hawthorne. Spent the last day just watching around the neighborhood. Nice to have parking in this close to town

Love this place

We loved the sculpture garden. The art is impressive! The location is perfect and the interior of the property is so charming and cozy. The use of reclaimed wood gives it such a warm, homey feel. We will definitely stay here again

Cozy Place in a Great Neighborhood

We had a lovely stay at the magic barn. There were lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance and it's a great neighborhood. Felt very safe walking around. The Magic Barn was tidy and had all the amenities we needed for our stay.

Absolutely stunning, romantic, beautiful place!

Needed to stay in Portland for a couple of days for transplant testing. This place is absolutely adorable. Cozy place, super romantic, utterly charming. I didn't want to leave!

Beautiful property in a great location! The inside is whimsical and cozy, with beautiful houseplants plants everywhere!. My husband kept saying he could see himself living there. The sculptures outside gave an added flare of cool. If you like edgy art and cottagecore style, this is your spot.

Quiet, Charming and Relaxing

It felt like I was in a rural cabin right in the city! This was perfect for a couple nights and so cozy. Pretty quiet for being on a main road, it was well equipped and walking distance from lots of good things. Would stay here again! Thanks for having me!

This was a great little escape in a vibrant neighborhood. Loved being walking distance to Powell's Books on Hawthorne. And the Japanese restaurant right down the street on Division was delicious! A heads up for older travelers, the tub is freestanding with a shower set-up attached that uses a wrap-around shower curtain to keep the water from spraying out. Since it's not a built-in unit, you feel quite cocooned when using the shower and there is no grab bar to help steady yourself as you are washing up. Never would have entered our minds as a possible issue when we were in our 30s, but now that my husband is in his 60s with a new hip, he wasn't comfortable with that set-up. Just offering that experience as some people might be in the same boat and it's nice to know ahead of time so you can weigh the positives and this one possible issue. Everything else made this a great stay for us!

Best Portland Haven

Very sweet, otherworldly studio in the backyard of an older home. There is a very quiet, eccentric aesthetic in the place that was warm and welcoming. We'd be happy to spend more time there.

Magic Barn lives up to the magic!

We had an awesome time exploring Portland and using the magic barn as our home base. It was quiet, clean, comfortable and has an endless amount of charm. We enjoyed our morning coffees outside each morning before walking to Hawthorne to take in all the experiences Portland has to offer. Can’t wait to come back!

Perfect certralized stay

I booked this location to see a concert at the Hawthorne Theater, which was just a short walk away. Everything I could have needed was within walking distance and the property itself was beautiful. The Magic Barn was exactly as described and felt magical, it was so cute and quaint and super comfortable. I hope to stay here again when I'm in town for my next concert!

The Magic Barn is a Cozy Paradise!

Such a cute property! We loved our stay in the Magic Barn. So cozy and warm feeling. The sound of the rain on the roof and skylights was heavenly. Uniquely decorated and loved all the plant vines cascading around the ceiling. Would definitely recommend this space to others!

Beautiful interior and ambience, romantic getaway!

The property was great, secure and thoughtful with everything they provide, the tub was very nice and the pothos plants and monstera plant was so cool! Definitely would recommend this property to friends and family. Only thing that we didn’t like was the mattress was not comfortable and woken up very early by a very loud dog barking at a nearby neighbors house.
