About this property

USM Area. Great location.

  • Recently updated 2 bedroom unit,new bathroom, new kitchen, granite tops everywhere, new windows, hardwood and tile flooring, laundry. Location is the Oakdale area, close to restaurants, micro breweries, two minute drive to 295. Washer and dryer in the basement. Free off street parking for up to 2 cars. This is a 2nd floor unit. Fyi, there is a railroad track running adjacent to the backyard.

This property does not match the photos advertised by the owner. It is in various states of disrepair. The kitchen and bath looked fairly updated and were clean. The other rooms in the apartment were not. Mini blinds were broken in every room; Paint chipping off the wood trim in all rooms; Floors unfinished where they met other flooring types; smoke detectors missing; deck was rotting and falling apart to enter the apartment; stained upholstery on furniture. It was advertised as having air conditioning, but only the two bedrooms had window units which were highly inefficient and could not cool the place. There are train tracks about 75 feet from the back of the property so it was loud all through the night. I would not recommend renting this property.

One of the main issues was the driveway and the walkway access to the space. There was lots of accumulated snow on the driveway which was quite uneven and hazardous to negotiate, and was very icy at times. The driveway was tight with two sets of cars parked next to each other. The walkway from the front sidewalk also had snow and ice on the steps which was concerning. The hallway entrance and stair to the second floor accommodation was very worn and tired. The space was fairly large having a living area with a sofabed, which led to a nice size dining room. The bathroom and kitchen were modern and clean. The kitchen drawers had no knobs or handles and were difficult to open. The heating in the bedrooms was uneven, vacillating between cold to too hot. The sheets and mattress cover on the bed in the rear bedroom did not fit well and pulled off the bed each night while sleeping. Overall, the accommodations were adequate for our needs this trip.
