"The Barcelo is a very nice hotel however, it is outdated. The sliding doors on the closet did not slide easily and one was very hard to move. The pool is beautiful but, a lot of tiles were missing around the perimeter. The staff were very nice. The rooms were kept clean. The breakfast buffet was good. We enjoyed watching the birds and iguanas while eating breakfast outside. "

"Overall a good trip. Rooms were nothing special, shower water was either scalding or ice cold. Buffet was average. The food at night at the restaurants was fantastic! The live music was great, very entertaining in the evening. We had a great time dancing and my husband and friends had a great time at the casino! The staff were ok, not overly friendly. Not that they were rude but just not many smiles or wanting to help. We did get ignored at the bar at one point. We did the ATV excursion and it was fantastic. The beach is beautiful and it's nice you are actually able to swim. Overall a great trip, did the staff make or break our trip? No. But just not the friendliest. But still a great trip with friends! "

"We brought our own water shoes and snorkeling gear. Didn't get to see any sea turtles, but we heard there were some eating by the sea grass on Baby Beach. The water was so calm and beautiful you could take a nap floating in the water and not get swept out to sea. The resort had a little section of the beach that was set up with a couple canopies that had beach chairs underneath. The pools were nice and clean. The food was surprisingly pretty good for an all inclusive place. We did the romantic dinner in the wine cellar of Portofino that we felt was not worth the price. It felt awkward because everyone was able to see us inside, it was quiet until we connected our music to Bluetooth, the staff came in and out of the room to grab wine for other guests, and the wine cellar connects two restaurants together so staff was walking through the wine cellar. Also the menu was exactly the same. Nothing special except we ate inside the wine cellar. The resort was newly opened since June 2025 so there was still construction being done. Our Ocean view room was a view to the"
