This place was so disgusting, we left and found a better place to stay. It was terrible. Do not stay here. Shame on Hotels.com for doing business with such a place.

Smoke smell

The room really smelled like smoke. It was inexpensive and the view was really pretty, but the allergy problems from the smoke smell weren't worth that.

Horrible place!!! My adult children drove 3 1/2 hours home instead of staying. No outlet covers,dirty bathroom and floors. Air conditioner was blocked by the fridge which wasnt plugged in. Beds had plastic on them and very uncomfortable. Comforters were stiff and antique.

The view of the mountains,and it was peaceful there hope to return in the fall,the owner was a super person to talk to as well as the rest of the staff. The wife and I enjoyed the stay.

Very dirty! Not well kept.. broken tiles and filthy blinds .. sand in the bottom of the toilet after being flushed and mold on the bathroom sink. Top blanket looked like it hasn’t been washed in a long while.. lamps dirty.. everything dirty.. Front desk was polite and nice but room was disgusting.

Cobwebs everywhere in rooms, amenities we're not clean, shower unsafe in first room and cold water in the next, rundown and not maintenanced properly. Management is neglectful and unhelpful. Worst place I've ever stayed at. Wouldn't recommend it to amyone

Overall a good stay. House keeping and staff where great. Room was clean except one of the bead spreads needed cleaning. Bathroom door stuck but was not a problem. Great layout for breakfast every morning.

The Ladd Brook is very nice for a motel at its price point. The owner, Paul, was very friendly, and the office was clean and welcoming. The place has an old-timey ambience, and the nicest view of any budget motel I have stayed in. The room was clean, with no cigarette odor, and warm on a cold night, with no annoying noise from the heater. It had a small microwave and refrigerator. The mattresses were decent, the pillows thin, the low-thread-count sheets clean, the towels clean, small and scratchy. A look around revealed the shoestring maintenance characteristic of budget motels. The air conditioner, situated in a roughly framed hole in the wall, was surrounded by expanding foam. The bathroom was clean and basic. The bathtub floor had a raised topography, and sunk under my feet as I showered. Pieces of molding were missing or crudely cut. You get what you pay for, and I calibrate my expectations to match the price I pay. The room exceeded my expectations. My only serious complaint was that the hot water ran out at night. It was plentiful and hot in the morning when demand was presumably lower. It would be nice for them to have a system that can meet peak demand. Breakfast was basic, with coffee, bagels, cold cereal and the like. You will do much better at a cafe in Bennington or Williamstown, but it is good for a snack to get you going. This is, overall, a very nice place for the price, and I will consider staying there on my next trip to the area.
