the room was ok, small but we expected that, bed was comfortable and there was everything you needed in the room. However there was a dreadful smell throughput the hotel - like a drains issue. After a while you got used to it, well accustomed to it, but still there. the lady on reception when we booked in was lovely, bless her she was dealing with what seemed like a tricky customer on the phone when we arrived and didn't seem to get much support from her manager when she tried to put the call through to them, she was very apologetic about us having to wait and witness that. She herself was brilliant, helpful, professional and friendly, I am only sorry we didn't catch her name. On the whole the hotel is okay, warm and comfortable, but if I honest I am not sure the inside is on par with the flashy new exterior.

A Special Christmas Getaway: The "Kelly" Review Date of Stay: December 14th - 16th, 2025 Guests: Diane & Chris Planner: Kelly 🏨 The Hotel: Barton Manor Hotel & Spa (Preston) Booking Strategy: I initially booked a standard double room for Mum and Chris via Hotels.com. Knowing this was their first big trip together after 12 years of being single, I wanted to make it special. I used my status as a Level 4 Google Local Guide (with 15,000+ views!) to send a "cheeky" request email to the hotel manager, Kajal. The Result (My "Win"): The hotel was incredible! • Upgrade: They upgraded them from a Standard Room to a Classic King Room with a Garden View for FREE. • Romantic Touches: They agreed to arrange rose petals on the bed in a heart shape with "D & C" in the middle (Complimentary!). • Leisure Access: They threw in free access to the Pool & Leisure Club for both days (normally a paid extra). • Check-in: They added a note to allow Chris to check in early if he arrived first. Verdict: The hotel staff went above and beyond. The "cheeky email" strategy worked perfectly, saving money on the upgrade and spa access while adding huge value. ❄️ The Activity: Preston on Ice The Plan: For Monday evening (15th Dec), I booked them a session at the "Preston on Ice" skating rink in the city centre. • Booking: 18:00 Off-Peak Session. • Smart Saving: I booked a standard ticket for one and used the "Carer goes Free" option for the second ticket, saving £18! Our room was very clean and looked to be nrely decorated. The Bed was very hard and couches also extremely hard and quite uncomfortable. Bathroom adequate but needed a few shelves to put toiletries on. Room stifling hot through the night even with heating down and window open Woken at 6am with a terrible noise outside? Was told ot wss air conditioning Vety disappointed to be told that a hotel of this size had no non alcoholic gin, wine, or mocktails??? We wete told they had sold them all and had none left!!??? Our evening meal was delicious though. The waiter at breakfast was clearing our table whilst I was still eating which I thought was rude .perhaps a wee bit more training here??

Wow myself and my partner stayed 2 weeks ago. What can we say. Excellent with very friendly and welcoming staff. It was our first visit but definitely be one of our favourites. Lovely hotel with spa and pool very clean all round. Breakfast and evening meal was spot on with lovely food, restaurant not badly priced. Note £10 for the pool swim and spa but well worth it. We were kept awake till 1am and then woken up at 5.30am by it. I thought about contacting reception but the thought of moving rooms in the middle of the night in my pjs was not an option.
