Beachfront Property! Nicest Beach In Penasco 6 Br, 4 Bath, 20ft Dome Ceilings

The minimum stay is 3 nights.
The house was built to entertain, without feeling crowded.
The house has 2 master bedrooms with oceanview and private bathrooms. The private bathrooms have granite counter tops and open showers.
They open into a large gathering room with a 25 foot brick dome ceiling, family room and kitchen that looks out on the ocean.
There is a large lower covered patio area and an upper tanning deck.
The four back bedrooms open up on another brick domed family room. The back 4 bedrooms have access to the bathrooms that are between the two bedrooms rooms
(Jack n Jill style) bathrooms on both sides of the family area.
They are large bathrooms with dual sinks granite counter tops and granite showers.
The house has travertine floors with a 5 star resort look.
Like many beach front homes in Mexico the house incorporates solar technology.
It is powered by the sun and a large battery bank. The water is trucked in to fill a large water tank under the garage. It is totally self contained and a backup generator is provided. The house solar which allows us to offer an affordable rate to our guest. We try to limit the number of occupants to 12 because of water and electrical management. We ask that you have a conservative approach when it comes to water and electrical consumption. The Sea of Cortez is not about the house. It is about the enjoying the breath taking beauty of the beach.
It was built for family and friends to get away and have fun. The house is equipped with bocce sets, horse shoes, bean toss, kayaks, fishing equipment and lounge chairs.
In town you will find scuba diving tours, cocktail cruises, deep sea fishing, sports bars, restaurants, shopping and other adventures. This is not San Diego but the Paradise described in many Jimmy Buffet songs. The beach is like a peaceful Corona commercial setting!
Come experience something new in an environment you will never forget.

**BEWARE - do NOT STAY HERE

From one consumer to another, PLEASE DO NOT book this property! I try to give property owners the benefit of the doubt but I'm very sorry that I did. This slum lord has been notified for YEARS that his property has many major issues and he has not fixed any of them! READ ALL THE PAST REVIEWS! **We took pictures and videos to document HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUES: INFESTED with mice Dead MICE found under 2 different beds HORRIBLE STENCH (pretty sure it was the dead mice) LIVE MICE running around kitchen/dining area Mice feces build up INSIDE the house esp. in kitchen/dining room (months worth) MICE feces OUTSIDE (up and down exterior walls) BLACK WIDOW SPIDER infestation (again, we have pictures) NO HOT WATER for showers or to wash dishes NO A/C!! Not enough bath towels for guests and no washer/dryer Kayaks and paddleboards broken, covered in filth and spiderwebs NO PARKING Burned out overhead lighting in main living area. Too dark to even eat at the table at dinner This property is obviously NOT being cleaned or maintained. This person is taking advantage of people who are trusting VRBO to have some kind of standards for listing vacation rental properties. We messaged him while there, no response. Still do not have any response from him. My daughter messaged him from her VRBO account and pretended to be a potential renter and he responded within a few hours to her! So dishonest! He still has not responded to me and it has been almost 3 weeks. BEWARE!

Hot house!

The house itself on the inside is nice, some things that are due for replacing. It is extremely hot at night. There is no AC, and we had a really hard time sleeping because of it. There’s no ventilation in any of the rooms. The drawers in the kitchen don’t open all the way. It was inconvenient to have to conserve and watch water usage since we were at the max guest allowance. There also wasn’t lights in the living room…we all sat in pretty much darkness. We lit the fire pit outside, but there were tons of bugs and mosquitos. The dirt roads leaves everything very dirty…so keep that in mind too. About 30 min from town which wasn’t terrible, but when we went out we made a day of it since it wasn’t close enough to go back and forth.

Amazing property

The views were wonderful. The kitchen was big enough for 6 families to cook. The patio area was very relaxing. No issues at all. Will definitely go again.

Neutral: right on the beach - needs some maintenance

Will be as factual as possible: Walking inside the first time, the house felt fine (clean and spacious). Great price! Plenty of space for our large group. Right on the water, which was awesome! But when trying to open some of the doors and windows, they were stuck; time is taking it's toll. Some windows wouldn't open; sliding door in one room was very very hard to open; main back door latch (to one side of the french door) was rusty and wouldn't allow door to open. Back patio furniture was pretty sad looking; although it worked, it wasn't pretty. The kitchen drawers only opened halfway so it was a bit tricky to get utensils out, but they had lots of other utensils that were accessible. Plenty of pots and pans, but not enough bowls for one per person. And not quite enough bath towels, kitchen towels, or toilet paper for 16 people for 3 days. I understand that, unfortunately people steal things from these rental homes, but the guests who do come and don't plan on stealing anything, would like to have enough towels and TP for the weekend. I reached out twice to the owner, but he only responded to my first message (that was asking him for wifi info). I probably won't rent this house again to take guests to, but maybe I'm kind of picky. If you're going down to the beach with kids/family, and don't need to impress guests with a 'wow' , then maybe you'll like it more that I did. Again, the price was great! Oh, and lots of water toys in the garage (sunfish, windsurfers, small sailboat, etc., kids sand toys, beach chairs)

Over all we had a good time ,

They have all the water toys(ie)sail boats, kayak, boogie boards ,paddle boards describe in the listing ,but most are in such poor states of repair that they where unusable < sail boats missing parts ,flat tires ,missing fins on paddle boards incorrect or broken paddles , ,and so on

VERY unsatisfied

We arrived at the house and everything seemed awesome but by 10pm the solar power no longer worked and resetting it only gave us power for about 10 minutes if that. When the power went off that meant ALL power was off, no ceiling fans meant it got hot very quickly. We ending up leaving 6 hours after we arrived and had to rent something else in the middle of the night. I sent a message to the owner and never got a response back. Do not stay here if you are use to things working.

Clean, plenty of room, beautiful beach, a bit far from the city, no A/C, and trouble with hot water

Pros Clean - one of the most important requirements for our family. Roomy - Six bedrooms, including two bedrooms set up with bunk beds, and four bathrooms. Internet. Plenty of lounge chairs Plenty of couches and interior seating Plenty of pillows and blankets Very private beach. Although the beach is not technically private, there was no one within a mile of us. Cons No air conditioner. Even in early October, we were sweating in the house during the day and at night. No fans (other than ceiling fans) - As warm as it is, there should be fans to help circulate the air. With all the windows and doors open in the evening fans would make it more comfortable. This is not really a gated community with security. Most of the time there is no one at the security gate, and we had to let ourselves in or out, which means anyone else can let themselves in our out. It is a solid 30 minutes from the city, a bit farther than we expected. We did not have hot water during our stay. Because it was so warm outside and inside, the water was not cold. However, it also was not hot, and it did not get hot. We should have contacted the property owner about it, because the property owner was very responsive. However, because of the signs in the bathroom that said it takes 3-4 minutes for water to get hot, we incorrectly assumed we had just not waited long enough. Because we did not have access to the hot water heater, we could not make sure it was on. We had to reset the inverter and the generator, which was explained in the instructions and which worked out as explained. But having to worry about limited power usage is not something you want on a vacation. Overall, we had a great experience. I just cannot give more than 3 stars because there is no air conditioning, we had no hot water (we should have spoken up about this), and we were far from town (we knew this too). I would certainly stay here again any time from mid-October through the end of March (no problem having no A/C). It was large, clean, and on a beautiful beach. But, I would contact the property owner right away if I had any issues, especially with the hot water.

Beautiful but never again

First of all, poor communication. Wasn’t given exact address so ended up somewhere else where a local took us to the house which was 2 miles away from where directions pointed us. Wasn’t given code number to get in and had no number for owner or anyone to get in. Gate person finally called maintenance and were able To get in after 2 hours. Then NO AC! was not told ahead of time from owner. Only way we were prepared with battery fans was from other reviewers. Maintenance guy even said the owner was supposed to have told us or have it written but nothing. Power went out first night. Again had to get ahold of maintenance to help with generator and water. Beach was beautiful, beautiful home, and drive into town wasn’t that bad even though it was long. Management was very poor and won’t be renting again. Thank goodness for the gate people and maintenance for all the help

No Air conditioning

The house was to hot and humid online listing didn’t say anything about no AC. Even with conserving energy throughout the day power kept going out at night. I was not satisfied with my stay. Probably won’t be coming back to that house anytime soon.

Undesirable place to stay

NO AIR conditioning of any kind and that's not in the listing .. batteries would never stay charged for the solor panels, had to get up all they the night to reset it. bed bugs in every bed. Dirty dishes in the sink upon arrival. Poop splattered on 3 of the toilets, no paddle boards like stated. Most of us slept outside. 4 people left because it was VERY HOT WITH NO AIR. I am.asking for a partial refund.

Location location location

Father son golf trip. Vedanta is a nice track. We ran into people we knew as well. The house was perfect for April Beach is incredible. Not a rock in sight. Town exactly 20 minutes from house. 26 minutes to mannys Which is where we watched the masters. El Capitan 25 minutes Who are these people leaving reviews?? If you like Mexico. Then this is the right house.

Nice but needs some work

Great location and perfect accommodations for a large group. It has great access to the beach and plenty of beach toys. The host was great and was quick in responding. The issues were a leak in one of the bedrooms and ceiling pieces were falling, though no longer leaking. The bathroom locks were finicky and, if not aware, you can get locked in. The water and solar electric turned off about 3 hours after the sun went down, this posed some bathroom problems at first but eventually we figure out how to turn it back on with the generator. All these issues were manageable, just important to know.

Great place! Recommend to those open to new things

Everything went well we arrived early and house was ready. We ran generator at night only because we didnt manage our electricity well. We got massages on our balcony. Taxi charged us 50$usd to get to main drag. F.y.i taxis drive the limit and takes about 30 min. If you drive it's only 15 min. Be careful with moths they hang out on the door so when you open door they all fly in. So you have to constantly sweep them up. Very calm beach. Plenty of parking for extra vehicles on side of home. It's a couple miles past the oyster farm. Overall great experience. Us 15 adults would stay there again.

Gorgeous house, great views, but definitely some downfalls...

Overall, we enjoyed staying in this roomy house and it was extremely nice to have the beach literally to ourselves for a few days. However, there are a few things that no one has noted so I went ahead and made a list of them below to hopefully help future renters: 40 min drive to the tourist part of town, not 15-20. It’s about 25 to the Puerto Peñasco sign from the house but then you have to drive further than that No AC - bring fans or small AC units. Guests from prior times said there was AC but we were told there was never AC to begin with Ants everywhere - kitchen dining room and outside, bring bug spray, lotion or candles. Keep an eye out for black widows WiFi - couldn’t be located on our whole trip nor could we find the instructions where they were said to be Power - We used generator a few times throughout the nights because you have to use fans in order to sleep comfortably but there isn’t enough power to keep it going. Be conservative of fans, lights, appliances, charging electronics Fridge - not cold whatsoever. Bring ice chests and plenty of ice and store meats in freezer Recommend bring your own pillows and blankets, bath towels, kitchen utensils Grill - didn’t heat up hardly at all, used stove instead. Bring your own small grill if possible Beach stuff in garage - chairs, boogie boards and what not were all pretty warn and need to be replaced. We didn’t use any kayaks or paddle boards because they looked like they were deteriorating.

It’s hard to go wrong in Rocky Point... in general, our stay was nice and anytime we need something, the owner was very responsive... but there were some things that could use improvement: 1. There was some kind of white powder all over the kitchen floor along the edges... pretty sure ant poisoning, as the one of the mornings we woke up to ants all over our food on the counter. The powder was concerning as we had many children... including one crawling baby. 2. The fridge was not very cold. And there were no shelves to keep food on the door. Almost every time we opened the fridge, something would fall out. 3. The power went out multiple times. The house is run on solar batteries, so you are very limited to use of electricity. 4. Poor water pressure. It was tough to get sand off with the lack of pressure. 5. Not a lot of hot water. I took a lot of cold showers. 6. The overall feel of the House was just a little run down... could use a little facelift. Even with these things... we did enjoy our stay. The beach is very private and quiet.

El lugar está más lejos del centro como unos 20min pero está súper privado bien agusto, la casa está genial, se fue la luz pero el generador lo prendimos y todo estuvo perfecto. Ami me encanto!! La casa muy grande limpia la vista al mar está hermosa se las recomiendo si quieren pasar unas vacaciones en privado.!!! El mes de julio feo está el calor horrible pero el lugar bonito.

Very Good!

We had great weather and a ton of fun! Everything worked in the house; fridge, showers (although not a great amount of water pressure), electricity etc. It was nice to have plenty of toys for the teenagers; kayaks, corn hole, kites etc. Enjoyed the firepit every night. A bit of a trip to town, not a big deal we just made a day of it. We would rent here again!!

Best Family Vacation

My family had the best time in Mr Keen's home!! I loved waking up and looking straight out to the Sea of Cortez. The beach was beautiful, tons of various shells everywhere! The house is far from town but feels so private and safe. We drove into town for groceries and dinners but no traffic or any problems. Everything in the house worked fine! I did learn that the water pressure is stronger in the front bathroom than my master bath , so you may prefer that option. My family rode horses and got massages on the beach in front of the house!! I cant say enough but hope to get the chance to return! .
