I really enjoyed the food—especially the buffet, which was the best dining option available. However, I was disappointed with the difficulty in getting water. Since tap water isn’t safe to drink in Punta Cana, bottled water should be stocked in the room daily or made more readily available. I had to request it multiple times, and after a long day of excursions, I texted my butler, Joel, asking for water to be sent to my room. His response was, “sorry no tip,” which was unexpected and unprofessional. I simply needed water, and that shouldn’t be tied to tipping after I already tipped him $7 USD the first day I got to the resort.
