"The location is definitely the best part of this resort. The private beach, outdoor pool, and buffet breakfast were excellent, and the staff were nice. However the building is quite outdated, the AC fan was noisy and we could hear noise from the room next door. There is also no elevator, which can be a real struggle if you have heavy luggage and your room is on the third floor. Overall, it was an okay stay mainly because of the great location and amenities"

"We had a lovely stay! The cottage was exactly as advertised, and the location was great with groceries and town just a short trip away. Since it's in a wooded area, we did run into quite a few mosquitos, so future guests may want to pack repellent. One small suggestion for the hosts: it would be really convenient if the cottage stocked a few basic household essentials like cooking oil, shampoo/body wash, and garbage bags, so short stays require even less prep and packing."

"Really great dog friendly property! Our cottage was very clean, and we had a small issue with our BBQ when we arrived which was fixed within 30 mins. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Lots of kayaks, paddle boards, etc to enjoy the lake. Lake is shallow at the beach/shore line, making it really accessible and safe feeling. We'd definitely come back."

"ALLAN was very pleasant and checkin took only a couple minutes. The location is very quiet. Very hot water. Two fire pits for relaxation 15 minutes to Huntsville and 15 min. to the WEST GATE of the park."

"Lovely property backing onto the forest. It was extremely well stocked, with anything we could think of. The living area was comfortable, the bedrooms all very nice, and great to have 3 bathrooms.Hosts were excellent with communication.We enjoyed walking the country road along the lake and having our morning coffee out on the front patio."

"Our recent stay at Idlehour was, without a doubt, the best ever: the cottage was neat and clean, the kitchen well equipped and the beds extremely comfortable. We particularly loved the screened-in porch that kept the cottage cool during the day and provided us with a great outdoor-dining experience in the evenings (e.g., no bugs)! The cottage's location on the south shore was ideally situated with beautiful views of Peninsula Lake, stunning sunsets and hours of leisurely canoeing.Steve is an exceptional host who quickly answered any questions we had and was eager to ensure that we had a worry-free, relaxing time at Idlehour."
