The room was spacious, private, clean and the breakfast good. The host went out of his way to have our breakfast ready earlier than the normal time so that we could be to our tour in time. Highly recommend!

We had an absolutely awesome stay at Riverfront Lodge! The staff/owners went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, it’s in a beautiful and peaceful location with great views, and very convenient for those traveling the Ring Road. Definitely recommend!

This was our most eventful stay. The staff was lovely, though reasonably chaotic at times. The parking area is small. It was raining when we were there and a few people got stuck. Love the aesthetic of the hotel. I wish there were more protein options for breakfast, but what was available was still good.

Stayed here twice during my Iceland trip. It’s a peaceful, cozy place that makes a great base for exploring the South Coast. Pros * Extremely quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. * Cozy, comfortable rooms with a nice cabin feel. * Beautiful setting beside the river. * Easy to access and close to Hella. * Great location if you’re taking buses to/from the Highlands. * A perfect place to rest and recharge after a long day outdoors. Opportunities for Improvement * A few maintenance and attention-to-detail items: * No bedside table. * Bedside lights flickered. * TV remote was missing. * Window blinds didn’t work properly. * Door locks were a bit confusing and finicky. * Breakfast was a little underwhelming. More variety and better coffee would make a noticeable difference. * My biggest piece of feedback is the fragrance used on the bedding. I’m somewhat sensitive to scents, but this was much stronger than anywhere else I stayed in Iceland. The perfume smell actually woke me up during the night. I’d strongly recommend switching to an unscented or more neutral laundry detergent, as I think it would improve the experience for many guests. Overall This is a charming, peaceful place in a beautiful setting, and I’d happily stay here again. With a little more attention to the small details, it could easily be a 5-star experience.

Stayed one night. Had issue locking door but staff were quick to rectify it. Nice property just outside of small town with restaurants and cafes. We stopped here between our golden circle day trip onwards to Vik. Room was pretty with a view of the river. No staff on site so check in is via lock box info that is provided day before or so. We didn’t get to stay for the breakfast as it starts at 0815 and we were already on the road. Room was a nice size for two people, clean with a small fridge and some things for coffee and tea. Some towels had a bit of an odour but we just didn’t use those. Otherwise beautiful location, felt very calm and peaceful. Better to have a car as it would be a walk down a side road then a highway.

Worst stay so far on the ring road. Very small room for a family of four. Once you keep your luggage, there is no place to walk. Worst - the hot water ran out after 5 mins. No one took bath. The lodge is unmarked and easily missed on the road.

Stunning location. Decent sized rooms with lovely bedding and very clean. The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is because the walls are quite thin so we could hear quite a lot from other guests nearby.

It is a self check in hotel. We arrived and the hotel room they gave us did not exist the code did not match any other doors. We reached out to the number provided and the phone was turned off. It didn't look like anyone was staying there, no cars in the parking lot, etc. We waited for a response for 1.5 hours and needed to go book another hotel room at 10:30PM at night last minute.

We booked 2 rooms ($954.76) for one night from Expedia.com , received messages about the room# 22 and #4 and access code to each room. When we got there 9pm, Room#4 was open and not cleaned at all. Room4 is connected to other rooms that were all messy. I sent messages, called the phone number listed, no response, then called Expedia support, Mario tried to contact the owner and called me back without solution. Later I got the message response with a new room#22, but no access code. We tried many different combinations and finally got in. Then 2 guys came to the site. It was after 10pm. In the next morning the owner came in and apologized to us. He said he drove 1 and half hours and complained about bad communication from Expedia like not giving him my phone number for him to call etc. Compared with the other stays in Iceland like Vik, Geirland etc , this River Front lodge is the most expensive with very small rooms and tiny bath sinks. The breakfast is good though.
