"We stayed at Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island for two days on a full-board package. Overall, the resort has excellent facilities, a beautiful beach, and friendly staff, but some aspects fell short of my five-star expectations. Room: Mr. Badr welcomed us warmly at check-in. Our sea-view room was spacious, clean, and nicely lit. The sofa bed was very convenient for our young child. However, the air conditioning was noisy on the first night, and an unpleasant bathroom smell developed after the first day. Room service addressed both issues. I was also surprised by the lack of tissues in the room and basic toiletries such as toothbrushes and hairbrushes. The refillable water had a slightly unusual taste. Food: This was the biggest disappointment. Despite reasonable buffet variety, the grilled chicken and fish were disappointing, and the beef lacked flavour. I expected better quality, especially with a full-board package. The pizza was good, breakfast was acceptable, and the desserts were reasonable, particularly the Om Ali. The all-day ice cream selection with different flavours was a lovely touch for children. Facilities: The beach was beautiful and clean, with soft sand. The floating water-play area in the sea was fun for families, although it required swimming out with a life jacket. The swimming pool was clean, and the 24-hour gym was excellent. "Original room allocated was looking out to a very busy road and the balcony was nothing like the picture on the website- so tiny. Fortunately the hotel agreed to move us to a nicer room. A lot of construction work around the hotel to be aware of and the buffet restaurant is currently being upgraded so prepare to eat in a school canteen type place. Almost impossible to get booked into à la carte restaurant unless you access on the website exactly at 11am. Overall a nice holiday but would struggle to rate the hotel as 5*"

"Overall our stay was great with the following exceptions: - the teen club does not open till 1pm, which is inconvenient because the kids club is open at 10 am, you find yourself having to wait if you have multiple children - the rooms are prone to ants crawling about, we set our water bottle down and within 10 minutes there were ants flocking to the condensation -the selection of drinks were limited depending on which area you went to"
