Unfortunately I have experienced this hotel at it's best. The staff were nice and my room was upgraded to a suite which was a lovely touch considering I stayed with my two children. The hotel is tired, there was lightbulbs out in the room, wallpaper peeled and framework missing from the doors. The shower was yellowing and when used sprayed from cracks behind the shower head. When on the balcony you can see the other half of the hotel which is closed off and unused. It has no roof and some of the balconys look to have dropped.
When checking out of the hotel at 8am there were a large group if men, stood in the carpark surrounding my car. My teenage daughter became nervous but I advised they were probably waiting to be transported to work somewhere. I asked them to move and they did so I could leave but not a great impression.
I paid £94 per night (averaged) over my two night stay and unfortunately I don't think the hotel should be asking for that price for what I booked which was a standard room.
Awful. Don't go. Looks like it's falling down and derelict. We left bags in the car to check the hotel was still open. Unfortunately it was. Photo on site must be 10 years old. This is a 1 star hotel.

A sad state of something that has once been a love
There seems to be a policy to allow this hotel to run down.. Lift and toilets out of order, gardens allowed to grow over , no atmosphere at all. Only good point was rooms were very clean and staff helpful
the picture of the property needs to be updated, to show the fact that half of it burnt down over 3 years ago, it was like arriving in a ghost town, extremely disappointing

Half of the hotel is burnt down. The remaining part has seen better days. A paint job would not fix it. The elevators are not working. Same for the public bathrooms. Staff was nice.
Gone downhill since fire 4 years ago. Too remote, no shop for miles. Same staff member did literally everything except the chef. Hard uncomfortable bed. Lifts not working. Great food in restaurant.
All I can say is I think this hotel ( in the lose term) has had its day . Part of it was burnt down .No working lift so no one with disability shoukd book.
Room very tired no even painting it would help .bathroom no comment .
I wouldn't recommend any one use this hotel.
Venue is a little dated, has so much potential to be something more. Bed was uncomfortable and room was stuffy. Bathroom didnt look clean with mould and rusted taps.
The up side is the staff were really friendly and the food in the restaurant was enjoyable.
Hotel is in a terrible state,
Half is derelict and the other wing has its roof missing.
The pictures are from another time pre-Apocalypse.
Rooms are dirty & falling apart.
Worst place I have ever stay - should be closed (should not be on Expedia)
- has to be seen to be believed but save yourself.
Is a long way out of town down a narrow road.
Room not cleaned. No staff at arrival. Reservation not found for 30 min.
The hotel stink, not clean. The only positive thing is the lake

Nice Views - Pity about the Hotel
Hotel is tired and needs complete refurbishment - however - the views from the rooms over the lake are stunning and the rooms are large and spacious. The Hotel decor is very dated and this along with the poor state of repair of fixtures and fittings lets it down.
Nice view but not nice hotel not 4* at all. Not worth the cost

Basic but nice
Ok, so apparently there was a fire and flooding there in 2014 when I say apparently you can see there was. So 75% of the hotel is no longer in use. You would think after 4 years they would have that repaired already. Other than that the hotel is basic but nice. Ideal for a night or 2 it needs some serious money spent on it. It was clean and tidy. The staff were welcoming and very friendly and the food was delicious. The £10 for breakfast seems expensive however what you’re offered makes it good value so take advantage. Overall this hotel is worth a visit it’s not posh, this current picture on hotels.com is when the hotel was in good condition so don’t be disappointed on arrival. But the rooms are a good size and comes with a private balcony over looking the lake. And yes I would go back
Hotel was run down with no air conditioning
Shower was a dribble of water. Staff were friendly. Television was broken, lifts were broken, no phone in the room, toilets in restaurant were out of service. We would not stay here again
This hotel is an awful hotel, due to its taped carpets, out of order lift, what looks like fire damage to a large portion of the building and it’s general flaky paint exterior. Whilst the hotel bed was comfortable, the shower was little more than a trickle and the comfort features within the room were sparse.
The elevator is out of order & has been out for over a few months. It was hard for me with a disabled daughter and two of my guests with back problems!!! The manager was nice to offer refunds but we did not accept since its hard to book into another so late in the day.good breakfast & friendly staff
Did not have enough desk fans to all of our rooms and it was hot!!!! AC was only in lobby
No way a 4 star Hotel . No air con in rooms , half hotel closed down due to a fire , no air con in rooms . Hotel needs to be closed down until it has been refurbished.
