The Space:
The perfect little getaway! On the outskirts of town and at the end of the road, this quaint cabin is gently tucked up in the woods. Remodeled and just right for a few friends or a small family, this lovable little nook of a sweet spot is waiting for you! During months of the year that favor outside living the deck is welcoming and peaceful. This quaint cabin has two bedrooms with queen beds and a single sleeper sofa. You can bring your dog or two! (Limit of 2 dogs).
Please note you must travel rural mountain roads to reach this home, and the driveway to this home is relatively steep and will require a 4-wheel drive and adequate tires for the winter months October-April. This home is located in an HOA with a 6-inch accumulation threshold before snow removal.
This home is equipped with internet, however due to its location the internet is slow and does not have the power to live stream tv, but many guests find that Netflix does work well at this location.

The Grizzly Peak Subdivision is in the midst of a multi-year project to bury all electrical lines. While this is part of long-term improvements to the neighborhood, guests may occasionally notice equipment, work along the roads, or some minor construction noise.

The Neighborhood:
Red Lodge, nestled in the foothills of the Beartooth Mountains, is a wonderful place to visit if you are looking for family fun, a place to touch the wild, or just a chance to let your hair down. Whether you are wearing Birkenstocks or cowboy boots, you will find something to do here. (Although downtown is paved and we even have sidewalks, Jimmy Choos are probably not a great idea!)
In winter the road ends here. Downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, sledding and sleigh riding are just the short list of activities that you can do when visiting us.
In summer we revel in the Beartooth Pass opening. We are only 68 miles from Yellowstone Park, but plan on a good two to two and a half hours drive as the “Pass” is stunning in high mountain vistas, rocky cliffs, and jeweled lakes. The Custer National Forest is a haven for wildlife including elk, moose, mountain goats, big horn sheep, bears (black and grizzly), mountain lions and wolves. Golden marmots are often seen dashing across the trails. Golden and bald eagles often visit our area, as well as sandhill cranes and blue herons.
Getting Around:
Pinecone Cabin has off street parking. Red Lodge has a taxi service and Uber for transportation in the area. Red Lodge does not have a commercial airport. Guest(s) can fly to area airports and drive to destination. Area airports and approximate distance to Red Lodge: Logan International Airport (BIL) 60 miles, Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN) 147 miles, Yellowstone Regional Airport (YRA) 64 miles.

Red Lodge, Montana is a rural community that does offer internet and cell service throughout most geographic areas but, some locations are completely void of any internet or cell service. In town and within a 3-5 mile radius of downtown you will enjoy solid cell signal but during times when our population increases due to events, celebration (such as the Fourth of July), or emergency situations such as a wildfire you will notice that these online and cellular services slow down and sometimes, they can slow down to the point where you have to wait to place a call. We can’t do anything to help in these situations, so we encourage people to enjoy the freedom of being “unplugged” and to be patient.

Although the long gravel road to the cabin was challenging for this suburban guest, it was worth it for the peaceful location. Red Lodge is a super friendly town and the many gorgeous hikes in the mountains were spectacular.
We loved this property! The host was very communicative. This was a great place for our dogs and a relaxing location to stay. The road to the cabin had ice and snow but our Subaru Forester did fine. We hope to return!
The view was amazing and the property was well kept up and clean. The fireplace added a nice touch in the evenings. Internet worked extremely well for being in such a remote location. It is nestled in a little community of well spaced out cabins but also close to some wonderful hiking and red lodge.
Cozy cabin off the beaten path (need good traction in winter) but nearish to town and the mountain for early-ups/good parking. Gas fireplace provides warmth and ambience. Well-equipped kitchen for cooking-in.
Nice little house surrounded by trees. All the necessary amenities. Washer and dryer were a godsend! Lots of communication from the hosts and offers for assistance if needed.
When they say to follow the written directions, they mean it.
A few hiccups on arrival day due to a recent storm but overall a great stay and would stay again.
We loved this little cabin in the woods; perfect for two adults and two small children. Extremely quiet, peaceful and accommodated our every need. Would stay again!
The cabin is well-maintained and comfortable. Large people may find the lack of a couch or large chairs to be a downside. Kitchen and bathroom have great fixtures and the place was clean and ready to go upon our arrival. Recommended!

Pine cone cabin is dreamy.
Pine cone cabin is dreamy. Had enough space for me and my husband and our two dogs. Well stocked and had very comfortable beds. Only thing it’s missing is a tub! Would be perfect for two couples on a ski trip. Loved how remote it was and felt very private. Put our snow tires to good use! Great value. Thanks so much! Great customer service! Would hire if I ever purchase a place in red lodge.
We had a great weekend at the Pinecone Cabin! It is very quiet and private. The cabin was clean and well furnished.

The Pinecone cabin was a very nice place to relax and find some peace and quiet.
The Pinecone cabin was a very nice place to relax and find some peace and quiet. It was also close enough to go into town or seek adventures close by. We saw a moose as we were driving in on the road and a mother deer and two fawns. The large deck with bbq, and the bench swing were nice outdoor spaces; wished we could've had a fire outdoors but understood the restrictions at the time we were there. The cabin itself was very clean and had all the things necessary to cook with. Linens were clean and beds comfortable. We enjoyed our time with our daughter and dog there. The only little negative was a sulphur smell when running the hot water. We were wondering if you only had cabins in the Red Lodge area or if you had rentals in other parts of Montana? We are hoping to come back next year and gather with our whole family, possibly finding something midway for all traveling (our son lives near Seattle Washington, we are in Bend Oregon, and our daughter is in Billings Montana). Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! We would definitely recommend the Pinecone cabin and AAA Red Lodge Rentals. As mentioned above, the staff was easy to correspond with and very prompt in getting back to me if I had questions. They kept in touch following our booking and leading up to our stay, as well as checked to make sure we got into the cabin okay and found everything to our liking. I mentioned a few things that needed attention but were not effecting our stay in any way, and they made sure to note them to take care of in the future.

It was nice for a getaway weekend.
It was nice for a getaway weekend. We loved the remote setting and being at the end of the road to add extra quietness. You are close to town yet still feel like you are far away. Pleasant, they were friendly and accommodating.
