Find the best Redwood City areas and neighborhoods for the activities you enjoy most.

Downtown Redwood City

Downtown Redwood City blends Silicon Valley innovation with historic charm. The restored Fox Theatre's vintage marquee glows beside the majestic 1910 San Mateo County Courthouse, now a history museum. Tech companies and startups fill modern office buildings while Courthouse Square hosts farmers markets and concerts under palm trees. The neighborhood offers diverse dining from upscale farm-to-table restaurants to casual ethnic eateries. Caltrain provides direct access to San Francisco and San Jose. Wide sidewalks make exploring easy, and evening entertainment thrives with regular events and performances.

Redwood Shores

Redwood Shores offers peaceful waterfront living along San Francisco Bay. Miles of shoreline trails wind through this upscale community, built around scenic lagoons and waterways. Business travelers appreciate the proximity to major tech headquarters like Oracle and Electronic Arts. Residents enjoy the quiet atmosphere away from city bustle. The neighborhood features contemporary architecture with earth-tone buildings and manicured landscapes. Visitors can explore the Bay Trail for panoramic water views or relax at Elmar Beach. While shopping options are limited, upscale casual restaurants dot the area. The extensive lagoon system provides perfect spots for jogging, bird watching, or simply enjoying California sunshine.

Woodside

Cyclists flock to this town for its open space preserves like Purisima Open Space and Skeggs Point. Enjoy hiking and horseback riding at Huddart County Park and Wunderlich Park, or dine at the Michelin-starred Village Pub.

Staumbaugh Heller

This welcoming neighborhood gives you an authentic slice of suburban Redwood City living. You'll find modest family parks perfect for morning walks and quiet evenings. The area provides a budget-friendly base for exploring the Bay Area's attractions. Fox Theatre and Woodside Central Shopping Center are just minutes away by car. Downtown Redwood City's restaurants are a short drive from this residential haven where Silicon Valley workers return each evening.

Roosevelt
