4/5 - Good
Similar to other towns on the island but it lacked the degree of charm of some of the smaller towns. We stopped by the supermarket and found that the wine we had enjoyed in the local restaurants for 20E was 6E....worth a stop!

Great location (close walk to beach, town, restaurants) and great amenities. Helpful staff.

Wonderful, very unique hotel. Full access to a long beach where you can watch the surfers. Staff were wonderful and attentive. Also, great location on the North coast to do day trips!

Location was great, town was very walkable with very good restaurants near by. Super easy to get to all areas of the island from this spot.

Santa Barbara Beach is a must see especially food and drinks at TUKA TULA bar and restaurant was fantastic with the best staff on the entire island. We also liked to just drive and take in the beautiful natural landscape and water views of Acores!
There was a music festival with drummers in the town square. A local man with his horse gave me a short ride! We enjoyed the feeling of this town. Everyone was friendly.
Has a way to go, before it can be considered a 5 star hotel. Perhaps when the spa is finished, the grounds do not have a dumpsite in back of it and you offer better options for people who do not eat meat or dairy in the future.
A nice place to stay if you like a balance between the city and countryside. The north side of the island around Ribeira Grande, Porto Formoso, & Maia is absolutely beautiful with sights, restaurants, beaches, swimming holes, and hikes to explore!
Great dining at Ala Bote Restaurant.
