Relaxing Country Log House on 65 wooded acres

Need space for a family get away, a wedding party, for your golf buddies or for your small group retreat? The beautiful log house in the midst of 65 wooded acres outside Saint Stephen offers space and peace to make this happen. Watch sunsets from front porch, gather for dinners on the deck or relax in front of the fire place - the Log House will not disappoint. The woods surrounding the house offers hiking trails for walks, and deer and turkeys can frequently be seen.

Weekly rentals run Friday to Friday to optimize the weekends.

Please note our caretake lives in a separate structure located 50 yards from the Log House and can be a great resource should you have any questions or concerns during your stay.

A short 10 minute drive, you can visit The Mississippi River Park which offers year around hiking and biking trails, archery range plus cross country skiing trails in the winter all for free. https://www.stearnscountymn.gov/394/Mississippi-River-County-Park

Awesome place to relax as a family. We stayed for a wedding down the street and had plenty of room for our whole family. isolated to the point you wont hear anything except for wildlife. might even see some too.

Friends Getaway

Beautiful, peaceful property just perfect for a friends getaway. Lovely gardens and comfortable, well furnished home with much indoor and outdoor common space. Great for families and children as well. We enjoyed spending a day at nearby Collegeville.

The log house was perfect for our group - plenty of rooms and common spaces to play games and make memories. Kitchen was well stocked so cooking was a breeze. Would recommend!

Beautiful Property, great horticulture, well equipped home.

Best Place we’ve ever stayed

The home was exactly as explained and had many personal touches. We enjoyed everything and will definitely stay here again. The turkeys in the yard were very interesting and we all learned a lot about them on google. Great stay and made lasting memories and learned something new. Doesn’t get any better.

Perfect Winter Retreat

The log house is amazing! Very spacious, comfortable, and clean. Great light from all the windows. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need. Watching the wildlife at the bird feeders and trees while enjoying the fire was enjoyable and relaxing. Hosts were very responsive.

Beautiful Home in the Woods

The beautiful log home worked so well for a group of 8 adults on a mid-winter long weekend getaway. We spent hours in the light-filled sunporch and enjoyed morning walks on the wooded trails. FYI--the 2nd floor of the house has a spacious bathroom with just a tub--no shower. However the second bathroom on main floor worked well for those wanting a shower.

Winter Trip!

We had a wonderful time! The layout worked great for our group of 4 adults and 5 kids to spread out and come together without feeling crammed. The cabin was well stocked and decorated. The land surrounding the home was breathtaking and the abundance of wildlife was not disturbed by our hours of sledding in the back. Thank you for having us!

Perfect in every way!

This property has it all! Comfortable beds, large rooms and spaces to spread out both inside and out. Generously appointed kitchen with everything we needed. The hosts could not be nicer. We loved the log cabin feel with lovely windows showcasing fall leaves from every angle. We will definitely be back!!! Thanks to the hosts for making our stay so enjoyable.

Pictures don’t do it justice!

This place is beyond fantastic! So much space to spread out and great sitting areas to come together. Incredibly clean and well stocked with anything you could want. Mary was wonderful to work with and responded quickly. The beds were comfortable and the water was nice and hot. I hope to go back in the fall to really enjoy the outdoor spaces. Highly recommend!!

Had everything i want

Very beautiful home with fun trails. Rustic, hunter and cowboy themes. Looking forward to return with adult friends for a getaway. Worked for the family but anyplace our crew is alot to keep up with.

The cutest log cabin! Thank you for having everything that we could possibly need! We enjoyed both fire pits, Blackstone grill, the huge yard, cornhole game, etc. Beds were comfortable and walk-in shower was able to accommodate my uncle that uses a walker. Plenty of space for the 8 of us that stayed there. Highly recommend! *Note that the maximum amount of people is 15 at one time, so even though it’s a big house with a lot of land, you aren’t really able to have any sort of family reunion or party there unless it’s under that limit. Also had to put trash bags in car and drive to the bins at the end of the driveway.

Staying with family for a wedding

This is a stunning home that was immaculate and inviting! We stayed for our daughter's wedding. There were 3 couples and two single people, and so we needed 5 bedrooms. The only odd thing is that one "bedroom" is really in a sort of hallway, and you need to walk through that room to get to the 5th bedroom. It was a gorgeous place. I wish we had longer to stay!

Perfect get a way from the city

Five adult siblings and spouses enjoyed a relaxing stay at this extraordinary log home. Very clean and well equiped and furnished home meeting all our needs. Exceptional property with beautifully landscaped grounds, hiking trails and multiple outdoors seating areas. On site caretaker was welcoming and helpful. Plan to return again as soon as possible. Recommend without any reservations.

the house was warm and inviting, space for all of us. love to watch the animals outside as we had our morning coffee. Kitchen had all the items we need to prepare our food. wished the weather was warmer so we could have checked out more of the walking trails.

Private, secluded, fantastic stay

I stayed here with four buddies for our annual guys trip. We do this every year and this was one of the best experiences we’ve had. The property is secluded so you can sit around the fire and not worry about disturbing anyone. The home was clean and well decorated and had everything we needed. Despite being so secluded it’s still a very short drive to bars and restaurants. I had a few questions ahead of time and the owner always responded quickly and friendly. The home had pots, pans, utensils, aluminum foil, everything we needed. I don’t think there was anything we needed or even wanted that the home didn’t have.

If you’re thinking about booking this place - just do it!

I cannot say enough praise about the Log House. The owners have put a lot of time, thought, and effort into making this a beautiful, relaxing destination. The house is practically in the middle of nowhere surrounded by beautiful scenery. The grounds are meticulously maintained and if you think the pictures in the listing are too good to be true … if anything, the opposite is true. The pictures don’t do it justice. If I had a vacation home, this would be it. Bravo!
