The staff was super helpful and super friendly even before we arrived. Answered any questions promply. Warm welcome and smooth check in, a bit early even with no problems. The room was super spacious and very clean. Within walking distance to eateries and downtown shops with local merchandise. We highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel is wonderful. In a great location and has better rates than the Hampton around the block. And in my opinion is a better hotel. Do yourself a favor stay there You won't regret it

Nice clean hotel room. They have a bit of an awkward lobby with it being tight corridors. Our room had a terrible noise all night that kept us from getting to sleep and we had to change rooms at 3:30 am. The staff was helpful getting us a new room and gave us vouchers for the restaurant for the trouble. Everything was clean and the furnishings were nice but unfortunately we did not get much sleep due to the noise.

Beautiful new boutique hotel in old bank- Lots of space ! Will be amazing once renovations are complete with the restaurant and cafe ! Use Campbell ST IN GPS TO FIND! Parking garage is right down Campbell and you can park right outside hotel to load and unload car. Many shops and restaurants within short walk. We loved eating breakfast at Ernie’s super sweet waitress and owner. Really fun town super nice people - came for concert in Salem

I stayed at the Promissory for one night, Friday 7/24/26. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was clean, modern and spacious. BUT these good attributes were offset by the fact that a neighboring property (Sidewinder) started playing loud, thumping disco music at 5 p.m. that continued without stopping until 2 a.m. Future guests should know that there will be no sleeping until after 2 a.m.

Very nice hotel, with excellent staff. Comfortable bed, wifi does sign you out after a certain time. Checking in can be problematic, the loading zone was full of cars when we arrived.

Beautiful new hotel. Great location central to all things downtown. Our concierge at check in was amazing and the champagne was perfect. We were upgraded to a suite for our stay and it was a beautiful room, lots of room to move around and the bar area really worked for us.

We were in town for a wedding and it was our first time staying at a hotel in Roanoke. We’ll definitely be booking here again. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. It appears the hotel is undergoing some renovations, so I’m sure it will be even better once the work is complete. The location is excellent, with coffee shops nearby and plenty of convenient parking. The staff was warm and welcoming, and we were even offered complimentary cold bottled water as soon as we checked in. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and we highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

This is a very new hotel, and it showed in some small ways. It is a beautiful property with helpful, attentive, and friendly staff, but there were some amenities missing. No conditioner, no microwave, no iron, no closet. There weren't extra sheets/ pillows for the pull-out couch (although they were delivered promptly when requested). The "complimentary pastries and coffee in the lobby" mentioned on the website are only available on Mondays, which was a dissapointing surprise upon arriving. However, the staff was all very friendly and the property is very chic and cool- a very unique experience and I'd likely recommend it overall, and would visit again.
