About this property
The Hideaway Cabin in Hocking Hills (with WiFi)
The Hideaway is a charming log cabin with a cozy sleeping loft, wood burning fireplace, private covered deck with hot tub, and a firepit surrounded by the forest. All set on a wooded serene hilltop. Spend your day hiking the trails, tend the fire, dine on the deck, or stargaze from the hot tub. Most importantly, relax and enjoy all that The Hideaway has to offer.
During your stay, you can text or email the property manager. Contact information will be provided after booking.
The Hideaway is one of 4 beautifully crafted, secluded log cabins operated by Summit Haven, located on over 65 wooded hilltop acres, close to all the area hiking trails. It's just 10 miles to Old Man's Cave, 8 miles to Conkle's Hollow, 6 miles to Rock House, and 5 miles to Cantwell Cliffs.
Our property will be your own slice Hocking Hills for your stay. In addition to your private outdoor area, you'll have access to our on property hiking trails and natural play area.
The Hideaway comes with high speed wifi and is stocked with linens, towels, a fully equipped kitchen, and an extensive dvd collection.
It's an easy and scenic drive to Summit Haven. While it is tucked away on a wooded hilltop, it is less than 10 minutes off of Route 33. On the way there be sure to take in the beauty of Wildcat Hollow Road, one of the most scenic drives in the region.
Winter Notes: -During the winter months the cabin may be difficult to access due to weather on Summit Lane. It will be plowed and maintained after each winter storm, but during those months an all-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended.
The Hot tub is drained and refilled regularly to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all of our guests. During the winter months especially, it can take some time for the water to heat up if the hot tub has been refilled, or if the temperature has been turned down significantly.
Prior to your stay, we require you to complete a pre-arrival form and sign & agree to our rental conditions.

This cabin was very clean and had everything we needed! The host was friendly and easy to communicate with. We will absolutely be back! I also really enjoyed the location and felt that it was fairly easy to access compared to cabins I’ve stayed at before. It felt private and right at home. We really enjoyed our stay!!
Everything about this cabin was perfect. So cozy and inviting. Had all the needed accessories. Path up could be troublesome in winter without AWD but so worth it.
The cabin was immaculate, beautiful, quiet, peaceful and close to everywhere. After a long wonderful day of hiking the hot tub was so nice. The a/c kept us very comfortable. Max was quick to respond to a question and we will be back for sure! If you want a beautiful, cozy home away from home that makes you feel far from civilization yet close to everything you can not go wrong here.
My husband and I took a quickly planned, 3-day getaway to Hocking Hills. I found The Hideaway at Summit Haven and it looked to fulfill our needs. We were thrilled with the ease of booking, accessibility, cleanliness and practicality of this cabin. It offered everything we could possibly need and the location was perfect. Max was very accommodating and informative with instructions!
We were looking for a place to stay as my son was having his wedding in ;Hocking Hills. Turns out his lodge was just down the trail / street!!! Max and team were great to coordinate with, easy arrangements and explanations. "Hideaway" was perfect for us. Well kept, spotless, stocked with the essentials. Enjoyed the hot tub and fireplace. Most excellent! 5 starts.
Our stay at The Hideway with 2 adults, 2 kids, and 1 dog was spectacular! The outside property is gorgeous with so many opportunities to enjoy nature in all its splendor, from the back and front porches, to the side yard where we played some yard games, to the hot tub, the Adirondak chairs by the firepit (with available firewood & firestarters!), and the beautiful market lights for cozy ambience. Inside, the cabin is well-appointed, warm, and welcoming, with thoughtful details like extra pegs on the walls for hanging jackets and purses, a skylight (with blinds!) in the lofted bedroom, sugar for your morning coffee, every cooking utensil imaginable, and thick fluffy towels. The cabin provided the perfect 'base camp' for our nearby hiking adventures and we enjoyed cozy evenings together as a family making s'mores and playing board games. The owner, Max, was extremely responsive to messages and was very kind and gracious to work with. We will be back!!
We had the best time in this cozy little cabin. Perfect for 2. The setting was gorgeous and quiet. The host, Max, checked-in via Vrbo while we were there just making sure we had everything we needed (which we did). We were looking to get away and unwind, and that's exactly what we were able to do!
The cabin was wonderful and so cozy. We enjoyed being away from life for a few days. It was extremely clean, and communication was smooth and quick. Thank you for the amazing stay!!
A nice long weekend for us together. The cabin is perfect and was just what we needed! Clean property, communicative owner. Some of the hot tub’s jets are not in working order, but it was hot outside so we weren’t in it for very long. The fire pit area was our favorite!
Cozy little cabin. Just the fit for an intimate couple or anyone who plans on being on the go more than in. Cozy fireplace, bed in the loft with a perfect skyline view to watch the stars at night, and a hot tub with a beautiful view of the back woods and path lite up with lights to an our side fire pit. In the middle of no where yet still close enough to town or park attractions. Perfect location!
The person managing the VRBO was very responsive. My husband and I are 5' 6 and 5'9, not real tall people. We had to watch our heads in the bedroom. The only place to put our suitcase up there where we could open it was on the floor under the wall of the peaked ceiling so we had to watch our heads...also downstairs around the underside of the stairs. There is 1 dresser so you could put stuff in there. It would be very difficult for more than 2 people to stay in this cabin, even if they were kids. I wouldn't take more than a very small dog that you can carry upstairs. The stairs are open backed plus there is the space limitation. The hooks to hang towels on in the bathroom are made of wood and moldy. The outside was nice and there are some trails at the end of the road and a nice swing even adults can enjoy!Hot tub was decent. We did not use the fire ring. You probably need good tires on a front wheel drive vehicle to get up the hill around the washout. It rained more while we were there but it didn't get so bad that we could not get around it. We have an all wheel drive van and it was just fine.
The Hidaway was so great we tried to get another night but it was booked. Max is great called him a couple times for minor questions. Loved it for our 50th anniversary and are planning on doing more days next year if all goes well. Thank you for a great time.
This is a beautiful property. The roads to the property needs work, it is far from any stores so make sure you pick up what you need. It’s the type of place you go and plan on staying there with out going out much since it’s a fair distance to anything.
The name of the cabin is so fitting! It was immaculate, and rustic, and the perfect place for us to get away. The lights that wrap around the backyard were very handy when trying to start that fire at night, so thoughtful! The property manager was very accommodating and the cabin was more than perfect. We had a fantastic stay!
