Great place to stay

The hotel is very nice for a stay. I was able to check in and take a nap in the middle of the day, after a long travel day. The room stayed quiet and sleeping was nice. The shower was great. No complaints.

Good central location, nice hotel, friendly staff and good facilities - enjoyed our stay 🙂. Just be careful if camper van as parking restricted height. Outdoor pool needs some maintenance on steps. Loved it though - thank you.

Nice area outside with geese and water. Good breakfast, but a bit pricey. Friendly staff. A/C wasn’t very cool in our room, and due to hayfever, we couldn’t open the window for cooler air. Decent room.

Customer service needs to improve

The building and deco was good The food and kitchen staff were very friendly and helpful especially the gentleman from Sri Lanka, the slim white gentleman and the lady with dark hair The dark lady at reception wasn’t helpful and her responses were abrupt however all the other reception people were helpful especially the gentleman who was working over the weekend and the lady who was there this morning

Poor maintenance, sloppy cleaning

We had two short stays at the hotel in two different rooms. We have been here several times before before the pandemic, and the hotel used to be quite good. This time, both rooms had multiple maintenance problems. The first room had the stop of the bathroom sink missing, the in-room safe did not work, and one of the towel racks was broken. Although we asked them every day to fix these things, and they promised every day to do so, they never did (during a 5 day stay). The second room (second stay) had a broken lamp, and some problems with the shower, and drainage. The shower was fixed, but nothing else.

Very disappointed

We booked a double bed room with extra bed, you needed to open the sofa to become an extra bed by yourself. After watching the TV, the remote wasn't work and can't turn off the TV, we went to reception and changed and other remote, but still not work. We called the reception at 11pm to report it, they said we come to get the third remote to try again, if the TV still not turn off, we needed to wait the maintenance on next day until 12nn and no room can change. We understand there was no room to change but it is terrible that the reception's response, how can we sleep with the TV on. Then we just call the receptionist to come and have a look. After TV sorted out, we find that lots of mosquito in our room. We slept not well all night as the mosquito all around our ears and make you cannot sleep. It was totally a horrible experience. We have a really good experience in NOVOTEL Eindhoven, maybe it is just the issue in Schiedam.

The location of the hotel proved to be advantageous, close to our destination and easily accessible from the highway. Cleanliness was excellent, everything was in perfect order, and we were entirely satisfied. The staff demonstrated high competence. Unfortunately, two or three significant issues arose. Firstly, we had booked four rooms, including an accessible room according to handicap standards and a room for two babies. Regrettably, the handicap room was not available, making the journey challenging from the start. However, the hotel responded extremely professionally. The night shift and the staff member in the morning shift were extremely friendly and worked to make our stay enjoyable. Special commendation to them. Discrepancies regarding breakfast times were also professionally resolved. Although we were informed of an 11 a.m. breakfast, it ended at 10 a.m. Nevertheless, the breakfast area staff handled the situation professionally and served us an extra breakfast. Regarding the accessible room, a solution was possible the next day, but due to medical reasons, we opted against it. However, the FOM professionally refunded the first night. As someone in the hotel industry, I find the hotel appealing, with friendly staff and a convenient location. The cleanliness impressed me. Communication issues, common in this industry, occurred but did not overshadow the overall positive impression. Thank you for the pleasant time. N. Azizi

We had a great stay at Novotel Schiedam! The hotel was clean, modern, and very comfortable. The staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The room was spacious, quiet, and perfect for a relaxing night. The location is convenient close to the highway, Rotterdam, and Vlaardingen, yet still peaceful and surrounded by greenery. Parking was easy, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel felt calm and well maintained. Would definitely stay here again!
