We stayed one night and spent two full days at Sapa Cat Cat Hills Resort & Spa. Overall, it’s a beautiful and peaceful place with stunning views and well-maintained rooms, we stayed in two and both were lovely. However, something felt missing in the overall experience.
A few tips: if you arrive early (common due to train times), there are showers available until check-in at 2pm. We didn’t know this and paid extra for early room access, which was okay, but could have been avoided.
I used the spa and booked a 1hr 45min treatment, but had to stop after one hour as the therapist didn’t seem well. I wasn’t charged fully, but the situation wasn’t acknowledged, which felt disappointing.
It was also my birthday, which I mentioned, but there was no small gesture or recognition. I usually travel on my birthday and it’s nice when places take note, even something simple.
Service could improve, possibly due to a language barrier. I requested towels that were missing and it took hours to receive them. Also, our room had a window left open, letting in many mosquitoes. I reported it and eventually received help, but felt my request was initially dismissed.
If you have mobility issues, ask for rooms near the front.
In all, it’s a great place with potential, just wish the service matched the beautiful setting.
