This hotel is in the middle of the vineyards so the food options are either eating at the hotel or going to an nearby city for meals. But the options in Saint Emilion are great and it's a beautiful old city. Labourne is a more modern city and is wonderful on Market day. The hotel itself is wonderful and comfortable...

Lovely hotel outside of St. Emilion. The restaurant is exceptionally good; the staff are very attentive and will go out of their way to make the stay better. The hotel amenities are also good (a lovely pool). The downside is the limited shuttles in to St. Emilion - given the distance from St. Emilion these should be more regular.

Loved the property but disappointed that we were unable to eat in the restaurant in the evening as we were residents of the hotel. On the first night the wine bar was outside on the grass which was lovely but the second night it was in a smaller space and not exactly up to the standard we would have liked so we went out of the hotel to eat. Everything else was lovely.

Grand Barrail is a proper 5 star experience, the hotel is stunning, the staff are excellent, the food is also excellent, we couldn’t leave after two nights so we added a third, one of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed! Almost forgot the spa, simply wonderful! There’s a mint mist!

Our stay here was absolutely perfect. The staff is incredible. The rooms are impeccable. The restaurant (we had breakfast and dinner) was divine. I was so sad to leave this spot and considered canceling the rest of our vacation to stay here instead. This is the most gorgeous hotel and restaurant. Everyone treated us as valued guests and the service in the dining room was impeccable. We loved everything about it - highly recommend dinner and petit dejeuner. The food was top notch. Wish we could have stayed longer - one night was not enough. We'll be back!

Great relaxing place

The weather was perfect. The only complaint I have were my allergies. One of the negatives pointed out by the hotel staff was the swan and her nest on site with the male being very protective but we thought it was amazing! Highly recommend taking advantage of the spa.
