The best kept secret around. Very clean, quiet, beautiful grounds, gym, pool, and dining area - all right there. The staff is over the top nice and the food is good.
Tropical paradise. Lush greenery, flowers and butterflies everywhere. Wonderful gym facilities, pool and grounds. They have a nice spa that offers massages at a decent rate. Both Western and Indonesian food are available in the restaurant. Laundry service is fast and reasonable. Staff are friendly and helpful. The family room was large and comfortable and stayed cool even without and AC - although we did have one and used it at night. Rooms have a water kettle, tea and coffee and a refrigerator.
A great stay!
The water in the shower turned very hot from time to time. The straits to the upperfloor are very fierce..and I think dangerous without a hand rail in part. But a charming place overall.

The resort is beautiful and great when they are not full. But when they have lots of rooms occupied there is no hot water for showers. After over 12 hours waiting for a shower we were told they could not help it since there were so many people. The same thing happened on several days. They also book large groups who take over the resort and are very very loud with no consideration for others… from before 5am - after 11 pm. I requested to talk with management but it never happened.
The staff is very nice but there isn’t much they can do. The resort stays fully booked and they won’t move you to a less noisy area or a place with a shower.
We booked our room over 4 months in advance but were told that was the only available place.
I highly recommend if the resort isn’t fully booked.

Etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Zimmer leider recht dunkel. Gutes Essen. Freundliches Personal.
Wah liburan yg indah buat seluruh keluarga jadinya...
It was amazing. The resort's architecture theme was like the ones we see in the old Santa Barabara's tv series. We would feel as if we were in San Diego or Santa Barabara California. Very recommended.
Nice little get-away spot. The breakfast buffet isn't that great, but it works and is usually included. The beds were comfy and clean, AC worked great. I always get mosquito bites when I stay...lots of them! So, bring the big spray!

Nice setting and beautiful landscape.
Friendly staff.
Breakfast a la carte was much better than the buffet the other days. This wasn’t so good but luckily there was an egg station.
Very tiny TV, room without any view (wall).
Bathroom small and somewhat dingy, shower cabin ‘glass’ not clean (calcium).
Amazingly loud noise from the mosque next door, starting very early.
Very very high prices at the bar etc., comparable to western hotels.
Fridge in room but no safe.
Easy to get Grab/GoCar.
We needed this... a place to relax... to stroll and drink in the lush old world ambience... to sit unhurriedly with an A+++ breakfast or to enjoy a cold brew poolside. Ahhhh, such is the life of guests at Kayu Arum. We will plan to return whenever we are visiting in Salatiga!

Staff was incredibly friendly, grounds were beautiful. Rooms were nice, no hot water in the shower, maybe that’s normal?

It was an awesome experience! Very peaceful, very clean. The Deluxe room was huge with a comfortable bed. It was still very “Indonesian” in some ways (small AC unit, few scuffs/marks on walls), but it wasn’t lovely. Breakfast was good, but also very Indonesian. It’s not a big sprawling spread, but it worked. The coffee bar is excellent. I ordered several drinks, and none of them disappointed! I will definitely stay again!
