This 1945 classic lofty hillside residence with 4 Master Bedrooms & 4.5 baths was entirely renovated and redesigned in 2014 for Architectural Digest AD 100 by Architect John Ike for his own personal San Diego home.

Luckily there is a telescope in the residence so that you can enjoy the spectacular panoramic views that stretch from Cabrillo Point and the Pacific Ocean, to the 10,000 foot high Pacific Coast Range east of downtown San Diego.

The never ending parade of ships and sailboats in San Diego Bay below would be enough to keep you occupied during your entire stay!

It's also one of those homes that you really have to be inside of in order to appreciate the excellent design and intriguing detailed craftsmanship that has been created for your comfort and viewing pleasure.

Each of the Master Bedrooms (two on each level) have spectacular views and are decorated with vintage mid- century furniture and custom made beds, each with its own bath, and all but one affording access to the outdoors. We have two King sized beds, 2 twins, 1 queen and two single pull out couches.

The custom kitchen paneled entirely in Hemlock with cork floors and ceilings, features a vintage Chambers Range and Oven, Subzero refrigerator, Convection Oven Microwave, and opens to an outdoor dining terrace with a built in charcoal Weber plus a separate gas grill.

An upstairs lofty shingled great room with 13' ceilings and a wall of sliding glass panels features a living area, fireplace, dining area and a chic stand up bar and vintage McIntosh Stereo. Vintage mid-century furniture, art and textiles lend an air of casual elegance to this room you just don't want to leave.

A lower level additional sitting room with floor to ceiling glass and ultra HD 4K TV provides and alternative place to hang out.

So pack your bags and get ready to enjoy- two expansive decks, two additional patio areas, two living areas, 2 fireplaces, private jacuzzi, private terraced area amongst the orange and lemon and olive trees, eat in kitchen, dining area, office space with WIFi and printer, washer dryer, dishwasher, telescope, hammock, wet bar and 6 HD TV's.

Ample non restrictive street parking, quiet residential neighborhood.

Just minutes away from famous San Diego Beaches, Yacht Club, Shelter Island, Harbor Island, Gas Lamp Downtown, Convention Center, SeaWorld, Balboa Park, San Diego Zoo, Seaport Village, Little Italy, Old Town and many more waterside shops and restaurants.

After a fun and sun filled San Diego day make sure you make time for a relaxing hot tub jacuzzi. Then just stretch out with your family on the outdoor, comfortable lounge chair furniture and hammock while you gaze upon the gorgeous sunsets.

The description by the host and rave reviews by guests are right on target. Our group of 7 women couldn’t have enjoyed our stay more. Beautiful setting, comfortable living and sleeping areas, ample bathrooms, well stocked kitchen, multiple lovely outdoor sitting areas and convenient location too!

Wonderful views and amazing stay

The house is stunning and great views of the ocean and bay. The house is convenient to shops and stores. Easy to get around walking or driving. This is a must book and repeat stay.

Our entire family loved the home and the views the property offered. While there were a few issues upon check in they were quickly addressed by the manager (thank you!!!). The hot tub brought a special experience as well both early in the morning and evening time. Will definitely travel back.

Pt Loma getaway

Beautiful home with stunning views

This mid century modern home was a lovely place for our family to stay for a wedding weekend. The views off the patio our amazing and the house had plenty of room for a family of 6 to have some of their own space as well as some beautiful places to gather. I would stay here again.

Three-generational Anniversary Celebration

The beautiful mid-century modern architecture was one of the aspects of the house we enjoyed most. Everything was clean and in working order. The kitchen was fully equipped. (Our one disappointment was that the coffee grinder was missing.) The street was quiet. The view from the back decks was lovely. We spent a number of days at Balboa Park, which was conveniently located. We spent the one rainy day entirely at home and enjoyed the availability of board games, jigsaw puzzles, and televisions galore (which we otherwise didn't use, as there is so much to do in San Diego.) We couldn't have been happier.

Fantastic home rental

We rented here for my mother's 80th birthday. The pictures on the listing caught my eye with all the beautiful views. When we got to the house and toured it, i thought it's all that and more. The locatiok is teriffic as its up on a hill in a quiet, residential area filled with expensive homes. You can walk to a grocery store,, starbucks and Dunkin Donuts, plus some restaurants and a bar or two. Its an easy drive to the beaches and to Gaslamp. The house architecture is amazing. The house has 2 huge decks with seating areas, a table fire pit and a hammock. There is an attractive wet bar, very nice grill area w mutilple grills, a hot tub, etc. 4 of us each had our own rooms with very comfortable beds and private baths. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. The family room Sonos system was a nice perk. We would suggest upgrading the sauce pans with some new non-stick ones. Can't recommend this place enough. I could have sat on the deck w a beer and watxhed the view for hours and we did!

Great location

Great location place is very clean. Loved the modern decor. The views were amazing sat out on the deck for hours a day. Bedrooms 4 masters on bathroom suites, definitely a plus. Bruce was great to deal with did a walk-through with us over the phone answered any question was available if needed. Seems like a very safe and quiet neighborhood. Plenty of parking close to grocery store, seafood markets. kitchen was fully stocked, would recommend maybe replacing the nonstick pans they were well used. we only live an hour away from the city, and I would rent this place again in a heartbeat.

Graduation gathering

We visited with a large group of family members for my son’s graduation from SDSU. The house had plenty of comfortable beds and spaces for everyone. The home is breathtaking, well appointed, and in a location that is convenient to a lot of places!

Overall, great experience!

The property has amazing views of the city, and was perfect for my family celebrating a graduation. Plenty of space for everyone, and we spent a lot of time on the deck enjoying the view. Some typical wear and tear on furniture and the home, but nothing major. Communication with property manager was great, and the stay overall was great!
