A frustrating experience. I recommend against any stay by BasqueStay. They prioritize profit over traveler comfort.
This unit seemed family-friendly as it offered an infant crib and lots of space. Check-in was at a vending machine 15-minute walk away. I arrived at 5pm on Thursday and found an unassembled crib with mattress but not a single fitted crib sheet in the storage closet.
I struggled with the crib and could not lock side rails into position. The main office was closed so I called BasqueStay's 24-hr phone line. The representative stated that she needed to contact the main office and could not assist me directly.
I made a follow-up call at 7:00pm line. The assistant then tried to call the business owner directly to rectify my concern. Ultimately, I was told that at 7:30pm that there was nothing more that the company would do for me that night but they would deliver a replacement crib at 9am.
At 10am on Friday morning, I made my 3rd call about the crib. I was told to remain in the unit and someone would come to help by 11am. At 11:15am, I made a 4th call, and BasqueStay confirmed that someone was still coming. At 11:45, a gentleman arrived and finished setting up the crib in 10-15 minutes.
I paid 3-star hotel rate for hostel-level service. I endured a sleepless night looking after a tired and fussy infant. Don't be like me.
Also, the main bedroom and hallway to the bathrooms is carpeted. From the color and permanent stain pattern, it looks to be 2-3 decades old.
