How do I get from the Powder Ridge to Alta? The Powder Ridge properties are the only true Alta ski in/ski out condominiums. From the Powder Ridge driveway, you can ski across a very short cat track to access the Wildcat/Collins base area. At the end of the day, you can utilize this same cat track to return or you can ski down an advanced run to your front door.
There are a couple of different ways to get to Snowbird from Powder Ridge. You can either jump on the Alta Resort Shuttle and take it to its last stop, which would be The View Condominiums. From there, you can ski down an intermediate access path to reach the Snowbird Resort Area. You may also ski to the Alta Peruvian Lodge from Powder Ridge via a couple of different snow bridges in Alta, and hop on the UTA Ski Bus, which will take you down to Snowbird as well. These shuttles are free within the Alta/Snowbird area and loop the area continuously during day time hours.
Important note: Alta Resort Shuttle runs mid-December to early April. Call our office for specific dates.

Perfect Ski Trip House
Our group of nine 50-something men had an amazing ski trip and loved staying in the Lone Pine Chalet. The house is super convenient to the slopes. Short walk to a cat track in the morning, and ski right to the back door at the end of the day. The Alta Chalet staff are extremely attentive and helpful. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay!

Great accommodations for a group!
This house is spacious with gorgeous views and all you can think of needing for a week skiing. The rooms are plenty large and it was so nice to have so many bathrooms. As the ad says, the table in the DR area seats 10, but there are two desk chairs that can be added for the full 12. We didn't end up with amazing conditions (no new snow), but still had a blast. It's and easy in and out to Alta and you can also get to the base of Snowbird by going left out of the house. There is a hot tub in the garage and you can open the door, enjoy the view, and recover from skiing (and they serviced this daily, so it was pristine). Our liaison from the rental agency was very communicative and extremely helpful throughout our stay.

Lone Pine Chalet
We stayed at the Lone Pine Chalet during the peak Christmas and new year and our review and rating is based on the fact that we paid “premium” for a luxury chalet - this place didn't meet the mark. The pros - 1) lovely views from the main reception window, and 2) lots of bedrooms and able to cater for a large group. Cons - 1) for price, we found the chalet tired and dated, with old carpets and worn out furniture, no decor, and very outdated bathrooms (we had problems with 2 of them and 1 of them was not available for use during our entire stay!), 2) it is advertised as ski in ski out but what they don't make clear is the ski out is a skate/climb for a fairly long distance and it is easier to call the shuttle bus and take it to base of Alta, and ski in is for experienced skiers only, 3) the new hot tub is in the garage which seemed strange but there is no space elsewhere to put it, 4) be warned about interlodge at powder ridge whereby you are not allowed to leave the chalet (this happened to us once), and 5) there is no grocery shopping in Alta at all - the closest place to stock up is in snowbird and that requires a car or going to base of Alta to pick up the main bus (and a 4x4 is essential if you have a car since there is not really any Ubers). Team at Alta Chalet were generally helpful and responsive but their description should be more clear.
