An amazing stay. The 18th century building was decorated in a modern and yet an old world charm. It’s location is so close to the Cathedral and in great proximity to restaurants bars and sites. The staff in particular Sandra was do welcoming friendly and had a very approachable and genuine interest in all the guests. My room that was on the top level had a window on the ceiling that opened out. I was very sorry to leave but would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend the hotel.

Central. Wonderfully atmospheric hotel and surroundings a couple of minutes walk from the Cathedral. Sensitive integration of the modern (eg lift) with the historic. Super helpful, polite, good natured staff.

Nice hotel in the middle of the old town. Walkable, nice in the evening with less people and heat. Staff were very friendly. Parking very convenient at 18 Euros. Good breakfast.

Nice spacious room and bathroom, great air conditioning, staff helpful, great location. One thing is that you need to reserve for the breakfast buffet the day before but I was not informed about this at all. So I went to breakfast thinking that I could get the buffet but they didn’t let me as I didn’t reserve it in advance. However I was never notified of this requirement. I think the hotel could do better about this.

Hotel is located in an awesome spot. Close to many shops and restaurants and points of interest. We were able to walk to our parking garage from hotel with a large suitcase, backpack and tote. We really enjoyed our stay.

The property is a 2 minute walk from the Cathedral of Santiago and is located on an old street which is full of character. The reception staff are extremely friendly and happy to advise us about the city, detailing a map for us and planning a short route on a camino so that we could get a feeling for the pilgrimage. Our room was very comfortable and well cleaned everyday by friendly staff. There was ample choice at the buffet breakfast and we were made to feel at home by the welcoming breakfast staff. We would recommend the Hotel Rua Villar as the place to stay in Santiago de Compostela and would definitely stay there on future visits to this wonderful city.

This is an amazing hotel: comfortable and well decorated, historic, and literally a stone's throw from the cathedral. In the heart of historic Santiago, yet very quiet rooms. The staff is friendly and helpful, and we loved all of the artwork. Fantastic place to stay.

The hotel is in a historic area of Santiago very close to the cathedral. It is within easy walking distance of cafes and shops. The building is historic and is not really suitable for a wheelchair user.
