We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Sarlat and highly recommend the Monet apartment, which was clean and comfortable and where we quickly felt at home. Though we arrived early in the season, with changeable spring weather, one afternoon was warm enough for us to sit on the spacious veranda, sip the wine our hosts had kindly provided, and nod over our reading, listening to birdsong and the hum of bees. The location is near enough to old Sarlat that one can reach the center with a ten-fifteen minute stroll, yet far enough to be a peaceful retreat.
Maggie and Ahmed are exemplary hosts. They provided a welcome bag of treats and local wine, gave us much good information about restaurants and shopping, and were available for help or questions. They are also just nice, interesting people, and we enjoyed our talks with them.
