Beautiful Log Cabin Retreat – Goshorn Lake - Saugatuck

  • Little Star cabin is your perfect getaway to a warm and charming wooded setting on an inland lake nestled a mile in from Lake Michigan adjoining the Michigan Dunes. This four bedroom property is well suited for multi-generational vacations with one bedroom and a full bath on the main floor along with a twin bedroom upstairs for the kids. Naturally this is also ideal for a romantic getaway or reunion with good friends being a short drive or bike ride away from the incredible neighboring harbor towns of Saugatuck and Douglas.

    Relax on the screened-in back porch, fish off the community’s shared dock or private beach, kayak, paddleboard or swim in beautiful no-wake Goshorn Lake, enjoy nearby Oval or Douglas beaches, head into town to explore the vast shopping, boutique and gallery options, dine at five star restaurants or enjoy a home cooked meal using our fully stocked kitchen topping off a peaceful evening around the firepit in our Adirondack chairs.

    Personally, we love the exciting Dune Rides attraction and nearby ice cream shop both within a stroll of the cabin. For the more active, there are endless bike trails, beautiful hiking options at Tallmadge Woods and Crow’s Nest trail, Saugatuck Dunes State Park, or climb the 303 steps to the top of Mount Baldhead for magnificent views.

    As an added attraction, we have a second cabin (Big Star) located directly across the private lane for larger gatherings. Be sure to inquire about its availability if you’re looking to accommodate a larger group or just have more space. Big Star has uninterrupted lake access whereas Little Star has a convenient beach path to the lake and dock.

Family Vacation

Our family really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was quiet and private, yet close to all things Saugatuck has to offer. The cabin was clean and well stocked. We hope to come back again.

We loved the quaint neighborhood, the proximity to downtown Saugatuck, and the access to Goshorn Lake. The cabin was perfect for our family of 6. We enjoyed evenings on the back porch and around the campfire. Erin was a great host!

We Had A Great Time!!

We really Enjoyed staying at Little Star cabin! There was enough room for us six adults and two children! The cabin was clean and well stocked with kitchen supplies. Check in was easy. Any questions we had were answered in a timely manner, I would stay here again!

Fantastic Getaway!

We booked this place for a friend group trip and it was perfect! Everyone had their own room and the community areas were spacious enough for all 8 of us to hang out comfortably. The cabin is also very well stocked with anything you might need. The location was great too - close enough to town but secluded enough to be relaxing. Erin was very responsive and was a great host! Would stay here again!

We loved the Little Star Cabin in Saugatuck! It was well stocked and so comfortable for are group of 6. We loved sitting by the fire at night and playing games! Erin has been amazing to work with .

Very comfortable cabin that was stocked for different types all the way from things for children to adults the beach and more. Located near most anything you would need. From sight seeing, hiking the beach and restaurants. There is plenty of adventure to be found here.

Luxury in a log cabin

This accommodation provided all the comforts of home in a delightful, cozy log cabin atmosphere. It was clean, everything worked, and rooms/beds were very comfortable. The owner was very cooperative and responsive in solving the Internet glitches with the website and HOA when they presented delays and difficulties in the registration and location for the accommodation.

Cozy Bachelorette Weekend

My friends and I had a great time at Erin’s Little Star Cabin for my bachelorette weekend. It was close enough to all of our activities around town while also feeling like a secluded cabin in the woods. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook a few meals. All guests said their beds were super comfortable too. Thanks Erin for an awesome weekend! I hope to be back soon!

Great family lake vacation, can't wait to do it again.

We rented the cabin for a long weekend with friends, 4 adults and 3 kids (10,8, and 6). We packed a lot into a fantastic weekend, swimming, dune rides, a lot of outdoor games, grilling, and smores. The lake gets deep pretty quickly and was great for diving off the dock, swimming, paddle boarding, and we even saw some people fishing off a pontoon boat. It was very serene to float in the lake looking out at the trees and the blue sky. The dune rides and ice cream stand were walk able, and there are a lot of fun places to eat and shop in downtown Saugatuck, which was only a 5-10 minute drive away. Our only regret is that we didn't stay a full week.

Little Star shines bright

Little Star cabin was perfect for us; Grammy, Mama, Auntsie, and the littles, aged 4 and 6. Rooms were perfect, beds comfy, kitchen perfectly stocked with everything we needed. The kids loved the little beach and we brought the blow up kayak for everyone to enjoy. Fished off the rock, built sand castles, made s’mores in the fire pit with supplies Erin left for us. We had some heavy rain while there and the screened porch was perfect for us all. I’d read one review mentioned the dune ride track in back through the trees, but we barely noticed it, not an issue at all. Saugatuck and Oval beach are close by, as well as mini golf, Holland and shopping. We think this may have been our favorite Saugatuck rental so far, we’ve been doing this every spring or summer for 6 years now. Also, the rubber duckies hidden around the place were an extra fun addition that the 4 year old adored. We left a new one to add to the collection. Thanks for everything Erin, your cabin is amazing.

Lovely Cabin by Lake Goshorn

We spent a long weekend in this cabin and had a lovely time. There we’re 4 adults and 3 children and we felt there was plenty of room. The personal touches made it extra special, such as rubber duckies (bought at Root Beer Barrel) hidden around the house for the kids to find and s’more supplies set out. The house has a full drawer of zip locks, tons of spices and cooking spray, beach towels, chairs and noodles. The cabin is a short walk from the small, private beach and we had it all to ourselves. It’s a short 4 min drive into the hubbub of Saugatuck and parking wasn’t an issue. The only negatives are that the cabin is creaky so if you’re a light sleeper, bring a sound machine. And the sand dune track runs behind the cabin. While you can’t see them due to trees, there are motors roaring by every 15 min or so which took away from the serenity a bit in the evenings. They could only be heard on the screened porch or outdoors, not in the house, but something to be aware of. Erin was an excellent host. She was quick to respond and very hospitable. We had a great time - thank you for sharing your home with us!

This lovely cabin is one of the best rental properties that we've ever stayed in. The cabin itself is beautiful, with an incredibly well-stocked kitchen, grill area, and fire pit. The spacious living room, dining room, and screened porch allowed our party of six to enjoy being together without feeling crowded. Being able to access the nearby lake and dock added much fun to our stay. The cabin's location was perfect, allowing us to easily access all the fun activities Saugatuck and the surrounding area has to offer. Erin was easy to communicate with and responded quickly to any questions we had before our stay. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the area.
