One of the oldest (and most complete) lighthouses in the entire country, Scituate Lighthouse (or Scituate Light, as it’s locally known), is a historic treasure. Built in 1811 by the federal government, the lighthouse has been a beacon for ships for over 200 years. The lighthouse complex includes the Keeper’s Cottage and Light Tower. Scituate, a small New England suburb close to #Boston is quite the spot to observe local Sunday life. Weekend homes dot the road to the lighthouse, children play games on the beach and seniors, dog walkers and couples head to the rocky boardwalk for evening strolls. We intended to capture the sunset that particular evening, but the clouds decided to cloak the sky. Nonetheless, we managed to find some thoughtful quotes on stones next to the lighthouse.
