"Quick check in. Clerk described where everything was on the property. Room was very clean, bed comfortable.
Nice breakfast choices.
I'll stay there again"
Elegantly appointed guest apartment at Silly Goose Farm in Eugene, Oregon.
10/10 Excellent
"My wife and I were in Eugene for the birth of our granddaughter. We love Eugene but wanted a stay with more appeal than a standard hotel. Silly Goose Farm was hands down the best choice we could have made. Situated in the lovely countryside amidst farms, vineyards and beautiful hills, the guest apartment on the main house was like our own mini retreat. Only 15 min into the heart of Eugene, we loved how special the farm setting is yet so close to our new little Grandaughter in town.
The host is extraordinary. She stocked farm fresh eggs from her own farm which we had each morning for bfast along with local coffee and get this, fresh baked sourdough. We lucked into fresh baked goods for a small fee since she offers it once weekly baked on site. We could have stayed in the apartment itself and been completely satisfied, but being with our new little angel and enjoying family mixed with a stop at local vineyards for local wines and dining makes Silly Goose Farm our new favorite.
Our host was warm and friendly and the interaction with select farm animals made it beyond charming. We were happy to find there is no TV in the apartment, inviting us to unplug, but for updates we didn’t want to miss, WiFi kept us in touch. The large soaking tub with coffee in the morning was something to look forward to on return.
We found that the photos of the property are very nice but the actual apartment shows far better in person. This is our new favorite in Eugene. We’ll return!"
"Overall we had a nice, cozy stay at the Yurtel. We needed to book last-minute accomodations for a football game in Eugene and this was a safe, affordable place to stay not absurdly far away. Our yurt was warm and comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was excellent. Our only complaint is the road and neighborhood noise. It should go without saying that you're going to hear outside noise if you're staying in a yurt, but the noise from the nearby highway was quite loud. We also could hear party noise from the neighborhood behind the Yurtel, and apparently folks in Veneta like to set off fireworks for Halloween, so we heard that, too. Thankfully, most of the noise subsided before it was too late and our sleep wasn't disturbed, but it might be nice for the management to include ear plugs in their list of amenities (and maybe eye masks, since early morning light does come in from the skylight at the top of the yurt.) Still, if you're looking for a quirky, affordable place to stay in the area, this would be a good choice."
