Superb accommodation and location
The cottage was fantastic, very spacious and we loved the open plan lounge and kitchen. The patio area was also excellent. The bed was lovely and comfy and the views from the bedroom were great. The location is superb for walking into Shanklin.
It would have been nice if there had been 2 trays rather than just one as we like to watch TV whilst having dinner! Also, a newer TV with Netflix etc would be good.

The apartment was very spacious, clean and comfortable and was well thought out. It has lovely views across Shanklin to the downs and you can see the sea too. It was nice to have milk, tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits when we arrived too. I would happily recommend it as a lovely place to stay

Mr & Mrs Thompson
We enjoyed a fantastic week over New Year's at the Good Ships. It's a superb location within Shanklin everything you could possibly need within a 15-20 minute walk5 minute drive. Including beaches, shops, restaurants, supermarkets, pubs, walks, a theatre, and best of all, for me, fossil hunting. The house is a good size with a lovely private garden that would really come into its own in summer. Exceptionally clean and well provisioned, we felt at home right from the off with a really thoughtful welcome pack. With off-road parking, it's a superb base to explore the island. Overall, very well recommended.

We thoroughly loved our stay at the Good Ships. It is a lovely letting - we are determined to come back again another time!
We were utterly delighted with the home, very comfortable, and would happily have stayed longer. We especially appreciated the pint of milk in the fridge waiting for us we'd left our shopping trip for after we arrived but of course we first needed a cup of tea before we could brave the shops. The home was really well kitted out and had clearly put a lot of thought into what was needed.

A must stay
Beautiful views, peaceful location, a good place to stay with several locations nearby to go off and explore, highly recommend
The welcome booklet said no dogs upstairs which confused us when it was advertised as dog freindly but this could just be it hasn't been updated yet

One Fixable Problem
Nice location. Nice place.
Same as I said last year. The garden is not dog safe. Don't advertise for dogs if the garden has gaps in the fence.

beautiful property
a beautiful property. with high quality furnishings, equipment and decoration. excellent location just a few minutes walk to coast path access and Shanklin seafront. Everthing required is available, with lovely outdside space. A couple of minor isssues soon dealt with with by agent and owners. Would love to revisit. highly recommended
Wi-Fi could have better reception and is not the best, but not a major issue.

It does what it says on the box
Apart from a poor internet service everything was first class
Overall The Good Ships is a spacious, clean accommodation in a great place for easy access to the seafront and beach in Shanklin. It’s is let down however by some of the amenities provided, which is such a shame. The kitchen requires additional pans and general facilities. 2 x saucepans is not sufficient, a large frying pan and large casserole dish. The fridge is a large American style with water and ice dispenser of which neither of the work. The TV is old and needs updating, not being a smart TV these days when everyone has Netflix,Prime etc. is outdated. The remote control which comes with it is a replacement generic type and not fully functional, permanently displaying subtitles. One thing it will mention though is the washing machine broke on our first attempt to use it however within a couple of days the owners replaced it, which was great. They did also provide us with a clothes airer as there is no washing line and not all clothes can go in the tumble dryer. All in all a pleasant stay.
