Shaver Lake access is just a little over three miles from your front door, so gear up for some fun out on the lake. For an easy day trip, drive about 20 miles to McKinley Grove and admire the giant sequoias. If you'd rather stay in the area, there's plenty of beautiful hiking trails within a few miles.

Up to six can stay at this lovely retreat, which offers a TV, DVD player, and free WiFi during your visit for entertainment options. A fridge, stove, oven, and microwave accent the full kitchen, so meals in are quick and convenient. And don't worry, you can run a load of laundry in the home's washer and dryer after a long day at the lake.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Reviews tell the true story.

I read the reviews prior to booking this listing and assumed (my mistake) the property management team would address issues like mice and lack of common kitchen necessities. They did not. Warn/stained carpets and throw rugs, no kitchen towels, holes in screens still an issue.The directions and codes were helpful however the lock box for the key is difficult to open and access the key. Front door needs force to open. Temps in upper 60’s when we arrived, beautiful and opened the windows to air out the house. Slider screen was shut but saw a mouse run across the living room and into laundry room. Shut door to keep mouse in there. Discovered the bottom of the screen is not intact, it must have slid in from there. (We hope) Notified Vacasa via text and was told they had alerted the local management team and they would handle the situation. 3 days later we contacted Vacasa again, still no word from local team. Do to the proximity of the laundry room to the bedroom we would hear it while we are trying to sleep. Squirrels entering under eave, running around in the crawl space above our heads nightly.Day 2 started BBQ and before we could get the meat on, we were out of propane. Sunday, finally got a text sticky traps and propane were on the way. Unfortunately we had already packed up and left a day early. The score of 1 is simply for the great weather and Shaver activities. First time less than satisfied with Vacasa. More attention to detail between guests solves these issues.

Great Shaver Lake Place

We used the house for a ski trip to China Peak. It was about a 35 minute drive to the resort from the house. The house was clean but there were a few things that show a little wear. It appears that some of the flatware has gone missing over time, so plan for that. The house was spacious and had more TVs than we used. Really quiet neighborhood We would definitely stay here again.

The house is very spacious and comfortable. It had comfortable bedrooms with ceiling fans in every room. The carpet needs some TLC but overall the house was nice. I would book this place again.

Expected more.

Other reviews said it needs tlc and they were right. The downstairs carpet is long overdue for cleaning. The outdoor furniture could use some updating, the grill was dirty when we arrived. It did have plenty of linens, the WiFi was better than expected. The hardest part of our stay is dealing with the call center for Vacasa. We come to shaver lake twice a year and we try to avoid the bigger companies due to lack of customer service. We rented this place because our family was in a rental directly behind us (the Pinnacle) however due to construction they canceled that reservation 2 days prior to our arrival. Not for an emergency but because construction wasn't complete which I think they should've known earlier than 48 hrs prior. Thankfully they found another rental through another company. Would love to rent this house again just not through Vacasa.

Great house and location..just needs better pest control and cleaning.

Saw a mouse the first night we got there..that was after 20 minutes of standing at the front door in 35 degrees im the dark unable to gain access due to either an incorrect code or faulty deadbolt locking mechanism. The beds were comfortable. Linens were great...kitchen was well stocked. Loved the neighborhood!

Work Trip

Some of our crew members stayed here for a project we were completing in the area. They stayed here twice because they enjoyed the place so much. We spent almost a full month at this location in total. No complaints, highly recommend

Love This Property

Second time renting this property. Very clean and inviting. Beautiful home in a quaint neighborhood tucked amongst the forrest and mountains of Shaver Lake. Kitchen is well stocked with all the utensils and gadgets you would need to make a tasty snack or meal. We love cooking in this kitchen. Jacuzzi tub is great, especially after a long day of hiking and fishing (Shaver Lake is about 10 miles utensils away). Living room is spacious and inviting complete with gas fireplace and bar. Bedrooms are also spacious and comfortable. Back patio has a grill and seating for 12. Great for barbecuing and hosting family or friend get togethers. We will defined be back again and again and again.

Beautiful Propery

Property was just as described. Super clean. Excellent communication with property owners and they were quick to respond to any questions we had. Kitchen is well stocked with utensils and dinnerware which was great because we love to cook and did so every night. The house floor plan is perfect for small or large groups. It was just us two for the weekend and everything from the jacuzzi tub to the bar off of the living room made us feel like we were at a resort property. Flat screens in all rooms and bathrooms well stocked with TP, soap, shampoo etc. The fireplace was a definite highlight during the chilly nights and added to the already beautiful/relaxing atmosphere of the spacious living room. We also took advantage of the huge back patio, we grilled and played board games surrounded by woods and the sounds of nature. We can't say enough good things about this property. We are already planning our next visit.

Location great, cabin NEEDS IMPROVEMENT!

The Granite Ridge area is great and the location and lay out of the cabin and property are very good. The description and reviews of this property were not accurate. Very disappointing especially for the price. We have rented other cabins in the area that we’re much, much better for the same price. Some concerns were: Very basic kitchen supplies. Only 2 kitchen towels provided. No cleaning supplies outside of a few dishwasher tabs and a mini dishsoap. (I brought my own Clorox wipes and kitchen supplies like baggies, foil and plastic wrap). Garbage bags provided were not heavy duty bags and tore open when changing the bag. Only 3 trash bags total were provided, so we had to buy more. For the price of this cabin one should not have to buy the basic kitchen needs. Kitchen was not super clean and kitchen essentials were all over (no organized drawers or cabinets) cups, plates and pans, utensils and knives were all over the place. It was a scavenger hunt to find anything. Linens and towels provided were very low quality. MANY bath towels with only a few hand towels and 2 kitchen towels. Ice maker in fridge was broken. Stove top very slow working. All appliances are very old. No “vacation cabin fun” like games or cards, so bring your own everything. No extra blankets and no blanket on the upstairs bedroom bed. During a winter snow storm we wore our sweatshirts to bed. Wouldn’t been nice to have some extra clean blankets to use. Very dusty!! Lots of very old artificial plants and old dusty decor EVERYWHERE!! Carpets are very dirty (really need to be cleaned) and comforters on every bed were dirty and very, very old. Seating downstairs in the living room was inadequate for 4 adults and 1 child. A 4 seat hightop table, a bar....but only 1 couch (for 3) and 1 chair with footrest, no end tables downstairs. Another seating area upstairs (another couch, 2 end tables, a chair with footrest and bench)....that we rarely used as we wanted to gather together downstairs. TVs in every room but not all set up with satellite...some only to be used for DVDs. Overall it would be quite handy to have a guide on how to use the TV...there are lots of equipment and systems that are not easy to operate without instructions. I would not rent this cabin again unless it was cleaned up properly and updated.

Shaver lake

The area was beautiful. It snowed while we were there and we were able to sled and play in the back yard. The house was very cozy. My family enjoyed it. Close to restaurants and sledding area. Only thing that I can say bad would be that the hot water ran out after only 3 showers and never felt hot enough. Other then that it was great

Great cabin!

The cabin was easy to find, just minutes away from town and a short drive to the lake. The home had some cooking supplies and a gas grill was located on the patio. The home was very spacious, just enough room for all of us. We were very pleased overall and would stay here again.

Great Vacation

We had a great time at this property. Great location in a nice neighborhood. We slept 6 (4 adults and 2 children) comfortably and had all the amenities we needed to have a great stay. We went to Shaver looking for snow and we were able to travel to a few sno-parks within 30 min. Plus, it snowed while we were there and we were able to sled in the backyard. We are definitely considering making this stay an annual, if not more frequent, trip for our family. Thank you to the owners for making their home available.

Shortcomings at Quality Time

We have stayed in this home 3 times as well as other homes in the area . Quality time is a very nice home with many nicer features. However, there are several issues need to be addressed. The most important is the light fixture on the ceiling fan over the master bed was broken on our arrival with the glass shade and bulbs hanging by the electrical wires which were only held in place by wire nuts - very dangerous . Also there are no snow shovels - only 2 round end spades. Akso the light fixtures under the kitchen cabinets have several burned out bulbs. The faucet on the kitchen bar and also the wet bar need adjustment. Also the refrigerator has 2 drawers that are falling apart and the ice maker is broken requiring use of trays to make ice cubes.

Beautiful, comfortable home

This home is beautiful, and comfortable and we would definitely stay here again! The kitchen is extremely well stocked, bedrooms are luxurious, and the porch out back is a nice place to spend the evening. Be aware that there is no air conditioning, and while it got a little warm during the day, it cooled right back down at night with the windows open and the fans going. The master suite is downstairs with access to the porch. It has a stunning bathroom with a 2 person shower, jetted tub, and 2 person sink. The other 2 bedrooms are upstairs and share a bathroom and have a beautiful living room type area with a TV. The rest of the downstairs is fairly open with an amazing kitchen, living room, bar with wine fridge, and breakfast nook. The dining room has a pass through window from the kitchen which is nice. There is a 1/2 bath bath downstairs as well as a laundry room with washer and dryer. The porch has a large table and chairs and a gas grill. Some thoughts for the owners/management company: we did appreciate the cleaning supplies provided, but 3 dishwasher pods, 2 laundry pods, 1 roll of paper towels, 1 additional trash bag, and a tiny bottle of dish soap is not enough for a week’s stay. It would be great if an adequate amount of such items were provided and of the length of stay were taken into consideration. We made due by buying additional supplies, but for the amount we spent to rent this place for a week, I feel I should not have had to spend additional to clean up after ourselves. Also, while the sheer curtain in the master bedroom is beautiful and allows a stunning view out, it would be great if there were an actual curtain or shade that provided privacy so that other people in the house could use the porch when someone is in the master bedroom, OR for privacy when people are in the house behind this house (they aren’t real close, but still. And they left the lights on on their front porch all night, which made it a little hard for me to sleep because of all the light.). Other than those 2 minor inconveniences, this place is amazing.
