Liked: Check-in, communication, listing accuracy
The waterfront location and beach access were beautiful, and the house itself has a lot of potential for a relaxing getaway. The communication from Recreation Stays was also excellent, and the cleaning team was wonderful and clearly took pride in their work.Unfortunately, there were several issues that kept the stay from being as relaxing as we had hoped. The hot tub needed maintenance and cleaning, and several of the jets were not working. The towels were also worn and not in good condition. I would recommend that the owners invest in replacing the towels and keeping up with regular hot tub maintenance. There was also considerably more noise than we anticipated from the logging facility across the bay, which detracted from the peaceful waterfront experience. We also encountered an unfamiliar, unneutered dog repeatedly coming onto the property, barking at the doors and windows, and ultimately damaging the front door screen. While this was obviously not the property owner's fault, it was disruptive and made us uncomfortable during the stay. There was also a surprising amount of activity around the property, including a person selling meat coming directly to the door. One thing we really wished the property offered was kayaks or other water equipment. With such a beautiful waterfront location, having kayaks available would make the experience much more enjoyable.Overall, the location is lovely and the property has a lot going for it.
