About this property
Small Rustic cabin at the Black Lantern Resort
Soak up the outdoors on the front porch! The cabin is near the resort’s garden and campsites at the Black Lantern resort. It is a tiny log cabin that sleeps just two people, an additional twin size air mattress can fit in the loft. Complete with a queen size bed, a little loft, air conditioning, a stove/oven, pots and pans, microwave, small fridge, radio, TV and DVD for watching movies, a coffee machine, an adorable porch for setting on with chairs, a pic-nic table, firepit with a cooking grate and a hot and cold water dispenser for drinking and cooking water. THE CATCH IS: you must walk a short ways to the shower house to use the shower or toilet. This cabin does not have a bathroom or sink, but is located really close to a bathroom and shower house . The cabin also has its own outhouse next to the cabin, a big wash basin for dishes and a spigot outside for hooking up sprinklers for the kiddos and filling water jugs to use inside the cabin. The Culligan machine inside the cabin for drinking and cooking water makes the “no plumbing” part a breeze . You have access to the Resort's trails, playground, little fishing lake and the free paddled boats. Our lake is small, but a host to all sorts of wildlife , it is wonderful to paddle in spring and fall, except for it gets really weedy in the dead of summer . But it’s still beautiful to watch wildlife on . Between old downtown Bemidji and Itasca State Park both are a 25 minute drive. Bemidji has a gorgeous waterfront, many festivals, the Paul Bunyan and Babe Statues, many great restaurants, and antique stores too. Itasca has a sandy beach with showers, the origin of the Mississippi, a ferry boat, Douglas Lodge for a great restaurant, bike and boat rentals, and many biking trails.
