I think I was given the room they make available for "Hotels.com" customers or something. Down an alley at the top floor. No TV.The AC was sonweak as to be laughable.
Staff is incredibly friendly and the location is perfect. It does get a bit noisy sometimes, but location and service makes it worth it. Pool is great and breakfast is always nice. The room is a bit snug, but the A/C works great. The only negative thing I have to say is that the bed is very uncomfortable.

We can't check-in to Residence Wat Damnak as they just mentioned to us there's electricity problem at some room when we arrived. And transferred us to another hotel, which is not too convenience, far from downtown area.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
My flight was cancelled and I had no way to contact the 'Hotel'. I arrived several hours later than expected to find the room I had paid for given to someone else. After remonstrating with staff I was given a poorly lit room containing 2 queen beds. There was no room for a chair. The sink was blocked and cleaning staff arrived st odd times normally when I was resting. I'd not recommend nor wish to go back.
The rooms are comfortable and clean and the staff and service are outstanding. I do have some small feedback to offer that would the excellent experience even better:
1. It would be nice to have a second chair in the room so two people can sit down.
2. A luggage rack would be a helpful addition.
3. The room could use additional drawers to store clothing.
4. The safe in the room should be secured to something so a thief couldn't easily carry it away.
Whenever I travel to Siem Reap my first choice of hotel is always Residence Wat Damnak.
The friendly, multi-lingual staff are well trained and always happy to help with anything you require. So you can be guaranteed an enjoyable and relaxing stay.
The hotel itself has a beautiful French-Khmer architectural style, the rooms are very spacious and well presented, with large furnished balcony areas and all the amenities you will need including e.g., quality wi-fi, air-con, refrigerator, fan and hot shower.
There is a restaurant on-site which serves Khmer and international food throughout the day. Along with this there are also various other restaurants and shops in the area covering most requirements.
The larger hotel complex has two large, crystal clear swimming pools to cool down in or relax beside and read a book after a long day's hike around the ancient Angkor temples or the more contemporary markets.
Several markets as well as Pub Street are within easy walking distance alongside and across the river. Tuk-tuks can be arranged from the hotel. Bicycles and motorcycles can also be rented very close by.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, both in helping us to our room and in answering any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again!
The rooms were slightly dated, but clean and comfortable. The doors are a little old-fashioned and don't seem very secure even when locked, but there are small safes in the room and there is good security at the hotel, so we never felt unsafe at all.
Overall a very good value!
Property comprises of three residences located on the corner of a quiet but safe lane just across the river from the central market & pub street district. Two of the properties have pools that where great after a day of site seeing. We had complimentary pick up from airport & upon arrival we where greeted with a refreshing drink. Check in was smooth. Staff where always helpful, booking any activity or tour we wished to attend. This was all booked to our room with no mark up at hotels end.
The staff was friendly enough during check in. But my actual room was less than subpar compare to my supposedly "superior double room" reservation.
The first clue was rackety ladder-like stairs to my second-floor room, and the big second clue of a horrible room was that the room door doesn't open completely. Yes, the main door was only able to open 30-degrees due to uneven floor. Once entered the room, there's barely enough space for me to walk around the bed since there's a structural post in the middle of the room. The bathroom door opens to the post, which makes it the second door to be unable to use fully. The room feels like an attic. I would've let it go since I'm used to hostels but this is far more disappointing than a number of hostels I've stayed at.
When I came back to the room after dinner with friends. I realized that the bathroom had a leftover soap wrapper on a shelf and hot water heater doesn't work. I also noticed that the room name is "Standard" #44. So I had to asked the staff if they made a mistake about my reservation. They didn't deny that they downgraded my room since they overbooked. On top of that, they couldn't help me with the hot water.
The more I thought about it, I realized that this was a total bait and switch since I reserved for "Residence Wat Demnak," I was assigned to "Villa Wat Demnak," but the hotel info book has it labeled "Golden Banana Villa." They apparently run 3 properties and they just switch at will.

Location is good as it is within walking distance to Night Market and Pub Street and to some nice restaurants and cafes. Staff are very friendly and very helpful. However, there were power failures in the night and Wifi can be improved - certain times it can go on and off so very frustrating. Breakfast is OK and they have outcall massage service to the hotel reasonably priced.

If there is no swimming pool
The swimming pool made us a little bit in good atmosphere.
The room is small and the bath room is to small too.
If there is no swimming pool I will be stuffed.Good for sleep only not for comforting ourself.
L ensemble du personnel est FORMIDABLE. Au petit soin pour les clients. FELICITATIONS et au plaisir de revenir dans cet etablissement de charme, au calme et a 2 pas du marché.
