Hand crafted Western Red Cedar log cabin with 2ft diameter logs from Vancouver Island, B.C. Perched 300ft up on a pine covered bluff gives you amazing panoramic views of the big lake. Watch the big ships sailing by from Silver Bay. Take an amazing bath in the copper clawfoot with a sweet view of the Apostle Islands across the bay. Warm up by the soapstone fireplace with a great view of Crystal Cave beach. In the loft enjoy a private master with bath and bunk room with built in queen and queen bunks with privacy curtains. Situated on a Red and White Pine bluff overlooking Lake Superior and surrounded by Tettegouche State Park with tons to do in the area. Ring camera doorbell is on site; located beside entry door. It was chilly and snowy but the views from the deck and from inside the big picture windows were absolutely stunning, and we made use of both the indoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit to stay nice and cozy. The only minor downside to this hidden gem of a property is that it has pretty low water pressure - it made washing dishes a bit more difficult and made me not want to even attempt washing my shoulder length hair. But outside of that (again, very minor) this place was truly a little slice of heaven on Earth. Everything went so smoothly, even though we showed up the day after some heavy snowfall and weren’t initially sure we’d make it up the long dirt driveway! (We did, and we had no issues whatsoever with our Subaru making the trek up to the front door multiple times over the long weekend). This place is worth an extended stay!

Our family of four greatly enjoyed our stay in this truly beautiful log cabin in the woods overlooking Lake Superior. Just a short drive up the hill provides seclusion and views of the lake that cannot be beat. The owners provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay - a well-stocked kitchen, comfy beds, clean linens, a gas grill and plenty of games - but truly, the views from the living room, large wraparound deck, and beautiful screened-in porch provided all the entertainment we needed. The home is across the highway from Tettegouche Park, so we enjoyed hiking there and at Split Rock, and loved coming home to a cozy and quiet home in the woods. We loved the firepit and the beautiful path through the surrounding woods. Would absolutely recommend and hope to return!

This cabin is a perfect place to get away and enjoy all the north shore has to offer. The location is fantastic and the view is stunning. From the wildflowers that greet you, to the stunning wood carved front door, there are details around every corner that invite you to slow down and relax. A true north shore gem!

Our family stayed at this cabin and were extremely impressed with how cozy and relaxing it was. The cabin is superbly build and perches high up for a stunning Lake Superior view. It smelled of wood and had ample space for a family, while still maintaining a cozy feel. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking supplies and the water doesn't taste like iron. The grill worked great and all the appliances worked well. Everything is extremely clean and well maintained. The beds are incredibly comfortable with partitions for privacy, which is not common in cabins with lofts. The location is great with very easy access to hiking trails and parks. This made it more relaxing knowing that you can take your time in the morning without having to rush out the door to get some hiking in. We did walk down the gravel road a bit one afternoon and encountered a black bear grunting in the brush, which the hosts did warn us was a possibility. We enjoyed playing games, working on a puzzle, reading, and just enjoying the cabin atmosphere. The hosts (Shawn and Edward) were excellent with communication and provided all the instruction we needed. It's clear they deeply care about this cabin and providing a quality experience for guests. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Pro's: Close to all the North Shore 'goodness' that is in the area within a 30 min drive either North or South. Beautiful cabin with the massive logs from BC. We enjoyed evenings in the screened in porch area. Lake Superior views from the deck are beautiful. Con's (The only reasons for not being a 5 Star rating on Location/Neighborhood and Overall Ratings): Out of the renters control...but the entry road off of Hwy 1 to the cabin was a little sketchy going by a property that was full of junk and abandoned vehicles, but once at the cabin all that is forgotten. Pretty constant road noise was more than expected from Hwy 61 and Hwy 1 that can be heard, especially during the busier parts of the day during the weekend due to tourist traffic. Overall a great experience!

This is a gem of a property--sweeping views in a luxurious, private log cabin. Convenient location to beaches, trails, and amenities. While there are places to eat put nearby, with a full kitchen and the views, you will not want to. The owners are responsive and helpful--providing lots of useful local information and quickly helping to resolve a water pressure issue (not of their own making or fault). The driveway up is steep, but our FWD minivan made it up and down in the summer without issue. We cannot wait to return someday!

Perfect location to enjoy the North Shore. The cabin was filled with many comforts of home: plenty of kitchen appliances, cooking necessities, and comfortable beds. Our favorite part of the cabin was the large deck and comfortable screened porch with amazing views of Lake Superior. We enjoyed starting and ending our days there!

The cabin and property are amazing! The cabin itself is immaculate and beautiful with numerous well thought out touches (ex. the screened in porch is perfect for enjoying a nice cup of coffee while taking in the incredible views of Lake Superior). The cabin is somehow spacious and intimate at the same time making it a perfect place for a family getaway. The location provides quick access to the waterfalls of Tettegouche State Park and Black Beach and a quick drive to Gooseberry State Park. Shawn was incredibly easy to work with and made check in and out a breeze. I highly recommend this property!

We had such an amazing long weekend at the cabin. It was in such a beautiful part of the country that we had not visited before. This cabin has all of the necessary amenities. We like to cook and there were plenty of utensils and cooking supplies. The beds were super comfortable. We enjoyed the games, puzzles and definitely the fireplace. We would love to return someday!!

This cabin ia perfect as a step away from the busyness of life and the Twin Cities metro area. We explored every day with a perfect "homey" feel to refresh and relax after exploring the North Shore each day of our stay. The owners were right on top of things after a crazy rain storm on our last night. I recommend this property and we will definitely return again.

The cabin is just wonderful. It has everything needed and the view of the lake and the surrounding area is just beautiful. The screened in porch area is great as we were able to enjoy the views, sounds of nature and our morning coffee completely bug free. Communication with the owners could not be better. My husband and I loved everything about this cabin. It is private up on a hill with a gorgeous view yet close to many things. The cabin is of excellent design and every aspect works perfectly. I loved the barn doors on the master bedroom that we could close in the morning when I got up earlier than my husband to make coffee. Most A frame designs leave the loft bedroom open to all of the noises of the kitchen but not this cabin. I also loved looking out over the lake while soaking in the copper bathtub. This review would be remiss if I did not mention the snowshoe trail just outside the front door that takes you all the way to High Falls at Tettegouche. It is not to be missed! Thank you so much for sharing your cabin with us!

My husband and I camped for 4 nights in Superior National Forest before checking in at this beautiful cabin. We had been hiking a lot and were very excited for showers and a comfortable bed. This cabin exceeded our expectations! We were so in love with the cabin, we decided to skip any sight-seeing, and just enjoyed lounging and cooking with the beautiful views offered at the cabin. It was a fantastic ending to our fall getaway!

Our family of 5 (daughters 4, 9, 10) stayed in this beautiful cabin October 4-8. It was just as pictured and was one of those vacations that you actually left feeling relaxed and refreshed instead of exhausted from the vacation. Stepping out of the car the view obviously takes your breath away and it smells like beautiful northern pines. Inside the cabin smells like pine and cedar and is so relaxing. It rained on and off every day of our trip so we squeezed in outdoor fires when we could and otherwise thoroughly enjoyed the inside. The temperature of that time of year was perfect for fires in the wood stove in the mornings and evenings and windows open in the middle of the day. The upstairs bathroom/tub felt like a spa, multiple kids could fit in at one time. The beds were all very comfortable and there were fans provided. Other things included that are not at all VRBO properties: extra quilts/blankets, lots of games and puzzles, tons of firewood, crockpot, waffle maker, ice maker in freezer, laundry/dish soap, plenty of to/paper towels, coffee/tea, spices and kitchen items like oil, flour, sugar, syrup, pancake mix,etc. This cabin is very close to Illgen falls/high falls, black beach, pebble beach and split rock lighthouse. We enjoyed going to silver bay marina to watch the ships come in. Sunrises on the deck are phenomenal. Traffic noise is very minimal and the view of the stars is fantastic.

This cabin is honestly a masterpiece. Every inch is pure art. You can't go wrong staying here. Everything from the screened in porch to copper bath tub make your stay a magical experience. The view is better than any hike vista. We adore this cabin and will be back again and again.

We love this cabin on the North Shore and come back every chance we get. It’s quiet, beautiful, comfortable, and a great location. The bed is very cozy (I love a nice bed). The bath is luxury. And the view is unbeatable. Highly recommend to anyone. Can’t wait for next fall!
