This was the perfect place to stay for our visit to yellowstone. The cabin was very cozy and a nice quiet little town. The Northeast gate is so easy to get in and out of as an added bonus.

This was a very cozy, relaxing cabin very close to the north east entrance of Yellowstone National park. We saw bison and mule dear right from the kitchen window on multiple days. The host was easy to communicate with and the cabin was very clean. I would definitely stay here again. It was great driving through Lamar Valley every day to get in and out of the rest of the park we saw a lot of wildlife this way.

We came back to Yellowstone again this year. Stayed in Cooke City last year and loved the area, so we decided to try Silvergate. We loved the house, it was easy to find, comfortable and clean. We loved the special touches in the bedrooms. The kitchen was well stocked. We would stay again!

A comfortable well appointed home in a wonderful location to visit Yellowstone. Views from the cabin are great! Very close to the Lamar Valley which is an excellent location to spot wild life. Many good hikes in close proximity to the property. Karen who owns the Cabin is very helpful and prompt in her responses. I look forward to staying at the Lamar Valley Cabins on my next visit to the area.

This was a wonderful place to relax in a between snowshoe and wildlife-watching excursions in Yellowstone. The cabin is lovely and very comfortable. We brought in groceries and did a fair amount of cooking. Really appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and the basic spices and supplies like flour and sugar. Thanks to our hosts for a great stay!

The cabin was beautiful inside and out and you just cannot beat the location. It’s like a mile from the entrance to Yellowstone and by staying at this location you get to drive in and out via the Lamar Valley which is the best part of the park for wildlife viewing. We saw almost every animal in the park along our drives. You can pick up some groceries in Cooke City and there are some food options nearby including the wonderful BBQ truck within steps from the cabin. We would highly recommend staying here while exploring Yellowstone.

The house is cute and clean and comfy and was ideally located by Yellowstone’s NE entrance for quick access to the Lamar Valley, which is what we wanted. We liked having restaurant options in Cooke City as well as right across the street. Upon arrival, we learned the whole town was out of power due to a storm. It was not an ideal start to our trip, as we also didn’t have running water. It was a bit rough, but power was restored in the middle of the night and things were comfortable after that. We would recommend this house to others.

This cabin was awesome. We arrived at night, didn't have trouble finding the cabin thanks to the directions from the owner, and..... they left the lights on for us :). It was clean, private, close to the northeast entrance, with amazing mountain views. Woke up to a Bison outside our backyard one morning, just amazing. Book this place you won't regret it.

We had a girls getaway in the cabin for 3 nights in late June and were thrilled with the beautiful cabin! It is less than a mile from Yellowstone, and there are amazing mountain views from most of the rooms. We loved the general store and cafe down the street, and were even graced by a bison in the back yard for most of our stay! The accomodations are perfect and exceeded all of our expectations - everything is luxurious and new, but also comfortable. We felt right at home. We can't wait to visit again!

Perfect base location for all things Lamar Valley! The property was SO comfortable and the perfect respite to our respite in the Park. We loved the proximity and ease of accessing our favorite Park sites. Karen was responsive to our questions and made us feel welcome. We enjoyed our visits from Jefferson the resident bison and viewing him from the cabin. The cabin is supplied with everything from a full kitchen to games/books and the MOST comfortable bedding for the perfect rest and recharge. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and hope to return soon!

We chose to stay in Silver Gate due its close proximity to Lamar Valley and the small-town atmosphere that you just can’t get at the resorts within Yellowstone. While this did mean a bit more driving, we preferred the location for our family. We thoroughly enjoyed the space the Lamar House gave our family of 5, the kindness of the towns’ people we encountered, and the ability to walk around town and listen to the babbling brook/river. The house had just about everything we needed (we did have to use paper towels to filter coffee as there were no filters so maybe ask before you come which ones you need) and was very clean. We highly recommend breakfast at the Log Cabin Cafe and dinner at Silver Gate BBQ…both so good. The general store has some necessities and souvenirs you won’t find in the park. Overall, an excellent place to stay for our family vacation to Yellowstone!

For our family of 10, the two houses - Lamar and Silver Falls - were perfect! Gave us the space and beds we needed to accommodate all; just could not have worked out any better! We had no need to contact the property manager or the owners during our stay. We are looking forward to returning next year! We have only two suggestions: improve the walking path between the two homes and replace the BBQ grill at the Lamar house. Overall: Wonderful for us!

This home is very, very nice inside and very comfortable. Pretty views from the windows and the kitchen well stocked and modern. The only con for us was we like to spend the majority of our time outside. There is absolutely no where to sit outside except on the wet front steps, and no grill which was a disappointment. You couldn't sit in the yard even due to chest high grass. Bring your own chairs and plan to cook in or eat out every night, and you will be very happy! Awesome location, walk to the cafe restaurant and general store.

We arrived after traveling several days to get to this destination to find that it had not been cleaned since the previous guest. The listing on this site will not open the property managers contact information but it is listed inside the cabin in a book that was tucked away. After contacting the owner, I received a response about how i needed to contact the property manager but no contact information was given to me just the husbands number but when called it was unreachable. I’m very upset that after 4 days since we left I have yet to hear back from the owners since I messaged all the problems that we encountered. After the first night, we lost power for the remainder of our stay (booked Sunday- Wednesday). The showers and the toilets were unusable. We didn’t shower the night we had power because we had to strip and wash all the lines and towels since they were not clean. There is zero service in Cooke City and Silvergate so I could not call or search online for a different place to stay elsewhere after the power outage happened. The owners have not responded to me and their lack of communication is why I ended up writing this. We spent a lot of hard earned money for a crappy stay.

We stayed in this cabin in May of 2021 and again in September of 2022. And if we travel back to this area would no doubt stay here again. It is stocked with everything we needed and extremely clean! The washer/dryer was a huge plus too! We were so busy sight seeing we weren't really there much during the day, but it was just a perfect location for us and a great nights sleep!

We had a wonderful time. The cabin is very comfortable and has everything you might need....except a n outdoor fire pit. One big issue for us is the information we got led us to believe we could bike into the Lamar valley. Absolutely not so. $75 a bike for a mile into the park... Disappointing for sure. Otherwise we had a wonderful time!

Great access to hiking and Yellowstone, unfortunately the gate was not open yet, but still great hiking, waterfalls, quaint town authentic people and area. Just loved it!

Although our trip and stay was cut short by the catastrophic flooding, I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the owners, Karen and Jeff Hogan, and this beautiful house and area of our amazing country! Our views from the cabin on the one morning we actually were there were beautiful, especially the view from my girls' bed at the top of the stairs! Jeff went above and beyond to help us get our luggage out of the cabin after we were separated from it by a partially collapsed road. He contacted a local friend, Dan, who was able to meet my husband and son after they went across the raging river across the broken road (water up to their ankles/shins) and drive them to the cabin. He then waited while they quickly gathered our stuff together in the pitch dark (power was out) and then drove them back to the broken road/raging river and waited as my husband walked each piece of luggage back across to a point where I could grab it and carry it to the van. Without his help, we wouldn't have been able to get any of our stuff out. And when we realized we had left behind some of our belongings in the rush to pack in the dark, Jeff offered to mail them back to us. They were a blessing to us during this stressful time!

Such a great spot in the middle of Silver Gate. I particularly appreciated the open layout in the living area and kitchen, and the view from the small bed in the nook at the top of the stairs. We'll be back.

This is a great property and we have been back for three years in a row. We love the location and the house. It would be nice to see the fireplace get fixed. We would also suggest a few more mugs, cups, bowls in the kitchen. Also, the air mattress upstairs has a leak in it. But other than those suggestions, a great stay!
