We stayed in Singapore for 1 night as a layover for 24 hours on our flight to Krabi Thailand. Even though the price can be high here, the hotel is very clean, modernized and has an excellent breakfast with a lot of variety and good food and drinks. Can’t beat the breakfast quality, excellent. Didn’t have much to complain about the hotel, except it being kind of far from the sights we wanted to see like the Marina bay sands hotel and bay gardens. Otherwise clean, comfortable, big rooms with big beds and restrooms. Excellent hotel. Didn’t stay long enough to see how friendly the staff were, but they seemed friendly and pleasant enough.

Size of the room was really good, size of the washroom was quite good. Quiet neighborhood. Good blackout curtains. The property is quite old though. It was evident in the rooms with old carpets and the washroom. The hotel is high up on a hills so walking to and from transit is tiring.

The hotel was a very convenient walk to Orchard Blvd, which allowed you access to buses and trains. The rooms were a comfortable size for our family of 4. It had a delicious buffet style breakfast with offered lots of options for tastes. The restaurant also opened for other dining as well.

York hotel is a bit older but the convenience of the location and the size of the rooms more than makes up for the tired fittings. With 2 entrances onto Mount Elizabeth and Scott Streets, it is a quick walk to Orchard and Newton train stations and to Orchard road for food and shopping. We had a family room that slept 4 and it was more than big enough for 2 adults and 2 teenage kids. The bed and pillows were the most comfortable I've ever slept on!

Perfect Place in Singapore

Super spacious and clean room! Loved the water filter that makes hot or cold water to save plastic bottles. Quick walk to a nice mall for restaurants and a grocery store. Really enjoyed our stay.

This hotel is in a quiet area but not 5-7 walks from the busy Scott road and Orchard road ! Lobby is clean and spacious. Room is clean and quiet. There’s good size pool and gym in the hotel.

Overall, my family and I were very happy staying in your hotel. Being near to Orchard Road and short walkable distance from the hotel are the key reasons why we chose to stay in this hotel. Our rooms are comfortable and clean. But the hallway to the rooms look dull and old and can be improved to have better ambience.

What I liked was that it was quiet, the staff were very friendly. The room was spacious, the beds were very comfortable. It was very close to shops and transport and the room service was fantastic. The one thing I did not like was, behind the curtains was extremely dirty. If I had a toddler, I would have to have it cleaned before I let it loose in the room.

* Breakfast was acceptable * Check-in was prompt * Hotel rooms are old and dated * Shower curtain smelled like wet laundry. Requested to replace and was done in timely fashion * For price paid, I believe there are better hotels to book in Singapore.
