Things To Do on Topsail Island

Topsail Island is a hidden gem along the NC coast, known for its pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and charming coastal towns like Surf City. From sunbathing and swimming to fishing and surfing, there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy on this beautiful island. Explore the local shops and restaurants, take a fishing cruise out with an area fishing guide, or simply relax on the beach and soak up the sun. With so much to see and do on Topsail Island, your vacation will be filled with unforgettable memories and moments of pure relaxation. Topsail Island is a 28-mile-long barrier island made up of marshes, estuaries, dunes, and shorelines. Sandwiched between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, “Tops’l” as the locals call it, is home to several fishing piers including the Seaview Fishing Pier. 875 feet of planks were used to construct this pier, which is the longest pier on the North Carolina coast. Privately owned shops, restaurants and attractions abound on Topsail, as well as the neighboring mainland towns. Learn the history of Topsail at the Missiles and More Museum and understand how to be a good steward of the sea at the Touch Tank Aquarium in Surf City and the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue & Rehabilitation Center for laid back and family friendly things to do on Topsail. Each of these attractions offers its own unique charm and adds to the allure of a vacation on Topsail Island.

Loose deck boards, locked thermostat would not go below 71° and I have a medical condition where I can't tolerate heat, ALL but 2 kitchen chairs broken, WiFi dropped every time I signed on, hole in kitchen floor covered by table, broken recliner on couch, images on listing outdated because property was NOT in good repair, siding to help flood waters falling off in back, game room constantly flooded so couldn't use, had to give my dogs bottled water because no water filter and it was way too salty, no screens on windows so could not open for fear of birds flying through, only 2 fans in house would not go above low setting. Property needs MAJOR work and repairs! Left a day early because my house is much nicer and nothing falling apart.

The property was perfect and we loved the location. The view was awesome and literally stepping into the ocean off the deck was great. But a couple things need a little attention. The sliding door on the 3rd level came off twice. We were able to get it back on track, but it does need some work. Also, the gas grill has a non-functional burner. Still usable, but, again, needs some work. The rental agency provides very minimal towels. One bath towel, one hand towel, and one washcloth per person, no more, no less. And only 2 kitchen towels. Could have used a couple more. We realized we had to supply our own "supplies", but would have been nice to have at least one dishwasher soap dose. One roll of paper towels and 2 rolls of toilet paper were provided in an "amenity bag", for which there was a 5 charge on itemized receipt! Also, the property description states the rate includes one pet. We were surprised to see a 300 fee included on itemized receipt. I know it's picky, but there was a liquid soap in each bathroom, but at least one had just water! The description does warn that 4-wheel drive may be needed. Tides weren't high enough during our stay for water to be a problem; however the road to the property was very deep sand and we had to help push out a couple area guests who got buried.
