This year, we decided to kayak the Upper Delta in spring. To our surprise, everything was flooded! Mind you, the Danube was at an alarming level. We couldn't even find the birds in the places that we knew they'd be. So, we went searching. And found a paradise of cormorants and their chicks, swans, and pelicans. We struggled to reach this lake by our kayaks years in a row. Last spring (April 2018), the water level was high, so we managed to paddle the narrow canals and get to it. In spite of the wind, it felt peaceful. It really did. #waterlust #blue
