This cozy cabin sits on the banks of a pond putting you in the natural beauty of this mountain setting. Cathedral ceilings covered in pine create an open atmosphere of spacious living. With large windows in every direction, you can’t miss the beauty of your Southern Colorado surroundings. The six-person private hot tub is the perfect spot to relax after a long day of exploring.

What's nearby:
With the Rio Grande River nearby, you can launch a raft on the Rio Grande and take a gentle float on the river's headwaters, or seek out a more challenging water adventure and head for the Class II and Class III rapids on the river. Anglers might do some fishing and bring home rainbow trout to cook up for dinner in your rental's kitchen. Wolf Creek Ski Area can be found just 7.5 miles away making this cabin one of the closest lodging options to the slopes.

Pass this one by…

This house could be a gem if the owners cared enough to invest any money in it. Everything in this place is old and out dated. We texted Vacasa within about 30 min of our arrival to tell them there was only 2 small pieces of wood for the wood burning stove (the house was at 60 degrees in the middle of winter with only very slow baseboard heat). Vacasa responded quickly that we could drive 5 miles up the road and buy some! Given as much as we paid to stay there for the weekend, the wood should have been complementary…since the property description fails to state you must bring your own wood! They apparently texted the “team” at the property and that person responded the next day saying she/he would bring some up and it never happened. Every pan & utensil that we took out of the cabinet to use had to be scrubbed to get old food off, before we could use it!! The pull out couch clearly had not been cleaned in a LONG time! There was so much debris (ink pens, large pieces of old food), crumbs, and dirt on it and there were no sheets anywhere. The bathrooms had the worst bath tissue. The beds in the downstairs bedroom were so old and creaky it was difficult to get a good night’s sleep. This is the worst VRBO experience we have ever had. Disappointment is an understatement.

Just what we needed!

The place was roomy and accommodating. We had 4 guys, so it was nice not to have to share beds and to be able to spread out the snorers. Pros: -Spacious open feel -Hot tub -Everything as advertised -About as close to Wolf Creek as you can get Cons: (these are minor picky things) -Cookware was pretty basic -Had to do some snow shoveling to access the back porch -for some reason I imagined a remote cabin with a pond- it was actually a complex of many cabins on the property- but still quiet with a nice Mountain View -WiFi is available but is stated in the rules that you can’t use it for streaming, we just played board games and never had issues with speed when we needed to look things up. Also, apologies, I meant to clean up the baby carrot water that dripped in the fridge but forgot, so hopefully that didn’t affect anyone else’s experience negatively. All in all it was a great stay!

Wolf Creek Ski Trip

Our stay was good. A few things outdated but nothing that should be an immediate fix. Thought the downstairs beds were alittle uncomfortable. And the tile around the fireplace was all busted up. Few of the outlets in the kitchen didn’t work and the shower head in the master was broken (you fixed during the stay) still was a great place and a cozy comfortable stay.

Great Cabin

The cabin was in a great location. It was clean and the staff was super helpful when the hot tub wasn’t heating. Overall it was a lovely stay. I gave only four stars because the amenities are lacking. The pots and pans were small and very worn. No wine glasses, broken cooking tools, dull knives, etc. The beds were okay but the pillows were terrible.

Beautiful Location, Very Dirty House

The views were amazing. Great to have a river on one side and a pond on the other. However, the house was VERY dirty. Every dish had food stuck to it. Floors were not vacuumed. Hot tub was green, although they did come and clean it the second day. House layout was nice too. Just hard to feel comfortable when everything is so disgusting.

South Fork

BEAUTIFUL property and location. Questions answered quickly and efficiently, easy access, very easy and self explanatory checkin. Slightly mislead by the “lake” but still a nice pond to have out the back of the chalet. Would highly recommend and would go again!

Great Lake Facing Cabin!!!

We had a great time. The cabin had everything we needed and has such a cute and smart layout. Great for multiple couples or families staying, with just our dogs and little family we had plenty of space. The back porch faces a lake which was beautiful and peaceful. The hot tub was also amazing to relax in while enjoying the quiet lake and scenery. We’ll definitely try to stay here again for our next trip to South Fork.

Very nice cabin and great location for getting up to Wolf Creek for first tracks.

Vacasa showed real professionalism getting ahead of broken hot tub with notice and quick, unsolicited decision to give us an appropriate amount of credit against the rate. While it did not get working during trip, that happens and they were clearly working on it. Beds are very firm but it is a cabin! We enjoyed our stay and felt we made a very good choice.

JAN 2022 SKI TRIP TO WOLF CREEK

This house was located a short 7 min drive to ski slopes. Home has everything you need to cook, relax and enjoy. We thought everything was wonderful! Can't beat the beautiful views from this great house.

Great Location

Great Location for Skiing at Wolf Creek. Everything worked. Comfortable. Has different temp controls for different rooms. Didn't discover that till 2nd night. House was plenty warm in teens. Hot tub was great, used it at least once a day after skiing. Parking area just fits 2 large SUV/Trucks. PM said they can accommodate trailers If notified. Was stocked with supplies and standard kitchenware, but not enough for a full week. If in doubt on kitchenware, bring it. Stayed 7 nights, really enjoyed it.

Great Place! We will be back.

Great place to get away. Property management was very informative from the time we booked the vacation until the morning we checked out. The cabin was extremely clean, spacious, and had the essential needed for staying in and cooking. We will be back!

Great Getaway

Great quiet cabin to get away from the city. It was very clean upon arrival. Plenty of nice views and lots of things to do just a short drive away.

Long weekend getaway!

The cabin was very cute and located right on the pond like the pictures indicate. The pond was low while we were there, but the we were still able to use the paddle boats and fish. The creek is located across the drive and the view from the upstairs balcony was beautiful. (I wish there had been some seating up here to enjoy the views other than one chair). In the house the two main bedrooms have a jack and jill bathroom in between the two rooms. And there is an additional bath right outside one of the rooms. So, for two couples and two teenagers, there was the perfect amount of room for sleeping and for showers. PROS: large living area, nice big deck on the back, plenty of towels, kitchen was adequately equipped, internet was marginal as they clearly disclosed. (which had out two teenagers outside fishing and hiking!) and yes we left the windows open at night to hear the river running, which was fantastic. CONS: there was no cell service (we have Verizon) and with marginal internet a small concern had there been an emergency; hot tub jets only worked on one side (we did not attempt to contact the property manager, but left a note for maintenance) so that was a bummer and I was surprised how much traffic went by on the highway even through the evening. We live in a rural area, so maybe we noticed it more? And the last suggestion I would have is a thorough cleaning of the windows in the kitchen and the door to the patio. That's me being super picky or transparent you decide. Overall, we had a wonderful time. We took a trail ride with Elk Heart Outfitters and certainly recommend their service, we also ate at Ramon's in town and it was tasty! Overall, very easy property to access, and it was an easy drive to South Fork or to Wolf Creek area. Would be perfect during ski season.
