Things to Know
Tahoe is home to many animals. You may experience bears, raccoons, mice, and other animals. Meadows are home to many rodents. When these areas are filled with water or snow, these animals move to homes in the area. You may see these animals in or near your home.
With the remote location of this property, there is no internet or cable. There is a cell phone booster in the cabin so that people can still get service, but it is spotty. This is a property for people who want to disconnect from the outside world. Be sure to print out your home guide before arriving.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.

Dock details: This home is part of an HOA, giving it access to a dock that can be used to hang out on, but not for boats. Guests can walk downhill on the left of the cabin to Fallen Leaf Road, turn left, or south, and go about 100 yards. Lakeview is on the right side of the road, there are stairs and a green hand rail that go down to the L-shaped dock. There is also a long row of lockers.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.
More information can be downloaded from the "Rental Agreement" on the checkout page.

Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

This was a great cabin at fallen leaf Lake. Our family went for a fishing weekend and absolutely loved it. We got to build a fire, go fishing, feed the chipmunks and barbecue, and at night it was pitch black and quiet. We will definitely do it again.

The area is quite. Clean place. Comfortable beds. There wasn't AC and the shower was leaking. Also, no WiFi and we did not have signal inside or outside the house.

We enjoyed our stay. The cabin had a lovely view and was near some great hiking trails to the lake. Beds were comfortable and the place was very clean. A few things in the cabin did not work as expected: the DVD player was broken, as was the dishwasher. The electrical in the house was very old and when we tried to use a space heater, the fuse blew. Also, it's very dim inside and more/better lighting would be appreciated.

The cabin is nice, the remote area is as expected. The bathroom is unclean and needs repairs.

10/10

For two people who wanted a base from which to go on day hikes and at which they could disconnect from work and the interweb, it was great. It's small (ideal for 2, not so good for a bigger group unless you want a lot of togetherness), but we had everything we needed other than a coffee maker (we took our own, so no problem). If you want to cook on the grill, take a meat thermometer for anything beyond burgers. There's a great trailhead nearby, and the store has basics. South Lake Tahoe is an easy drive for anything else.

We booked this cabin specifically for its easy and private lake access. The listing features 5 pictures of the nearby dock and explicitly mentions how close it is to the cabin. However, when we walked down to the lake, the steps down to the dock were fenced off and the dock was under construction. This was a significant construction project, and, as part of an HOA, the owner was certainly aware of it. So why weren't we? Why hadn't the listing been updated? If this listing had the correct information we could have selected several other properties. We tried to reach Vacasa, the property management company, several times with no luck, waiting on hold for more than 20 minutes. If you want to be walking distance to the lake, we don’t recommend staying here anytime soon. We’ve stayed in Tahoe for more than 20 years, dealing directly with owners (pretty sure VRBO used to stand for Vacation Rentals By Owner) and we’ve always had easy, pleasant experiences. The cabin itself was fine for two people. There was plenty of dust and some questionably clean linens (stains, hair). The dishes were notably dirty. We could have dealt with all this but without the nearby lake access we came for, we left early.

This is my first negative experience with a home and I have been doing this for 10 years. Im not going to go into all the details but the one thing we were majorly disappointed in was the false advertising that we were not necessarily closer to the water than we thought but that we would have a dock to hang out on. Thats why I rented this place, thinking we would get to hang out, play in the water etc. There was no docks for the home. If there were I wouldn't know because we emailed the company and they never responded. In the pictures it makes you feel like its a part of the house, and its not. So be aware.

We stayed at this lovely cabin for 3 night! We’re familiar with Fallen Leaf and have camped in area. The cabin was fantastic and we’d love to come again.

Spacious enough for 6 people. Clean throughout. The deck and outdoor furniture need some TLC.

Cherry Leaf Lodge delivered on our desire to find a charming cabin on a lake. The best part was sitting on the deck, reading a book, and watching the sun go down through the trees and over the lake. We appreciated the attention to detail to create a simple, cabin experience from another era, all the way down to the record player, but with key creature comforts of today. Our kids had a delightful time playing games in the living room. We planned ahead, as directed, and lived just fine without WiFi. Thank you!

This is a perfect little cabin tucked away in the woods with a view of the lake from the living room and deck. There are a couple neighboring cabins close by, but overall great location to be off the beaten path. We could watch the sun set over the mountain every night with a beautiful view of the water. The inside is updated and clean. Our family enjoyed the DVD selection of romantic comedies, and a few kids movies, there is also a record player. We also had access to a private dock. I would suggest using google earth to find it though based on the pictures, property management had no specific directions on where it was located but we did manage to find it. There is no wifi or cell service. So this is a great place to unplug as a family! There is so much to do and explore in the area. We will definitely be back!

Love it. Great spot for our family to enjoy down time by the lake. We enjoyed a kayak on FLL and trip to Angora Lake. We also enjoyed reading on the great deck while the kids played games inside.

The cabin was great for the location- close to trails and lake access. While at the cabin we did not spend too much time inside, the kitchen has been updated but the rest of the house while clean, is a bit dated. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck and grilling.

We had a great time at Fallen Leaf Lake although we hardly touched the lake at all! We hiked and fished at the lake, but the water we did enter was the Truckee River in rafts. Really relaxing and refreshing. We also tried Tree Top Adventures ropes courses. They were really supportive, encouraging. It was a great trip!

Property did not have much of a view of the lake. Needed work on the outside of the home. Noisy in the area due to work with chain saws.

Stayed for 4 days in August with 2 adults and 4 small dogs. Loved the cabin, but the only 'coffee maker' was a french press, which we later found out was intentional, so be prepared. You can see the lake through lots of trees, but it isn't 'on the lake', and not really an easy stroll to get to it. Very quiet and peaceful, and the photos on Vacasa are very accurate - great deck, cozy and welcoming inside. There is lake access that you can drive to. Recommend that you do your research and print it before you go, internet is unreliable, but that is part of the fun!

Amazing cabin. Terrific location. Comfortable. Relaxing and quiet woodland atmosphere. Up to date appliances. Well stocked kitchen for cooking etc. Very comfortable beds and furniture. So nice to wake up and read out on the deck in the morning. There is so much to do and see in this area, especially if you enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, swimming, mountain biking or boating. We were there with our teenagers for 4 days without internet and they had a great time unplugging!

Lovely, cozy cabin with view of the lake. Be sure to check the Vacasa "trip portal" for important restrictions and ask the reservation agent what they are before you confirm your reservation.
