Much needed relaxing staycation!

Went for a last minute relaxing birthday weekend. The room is adorable with vintage appliances and glitter floors! We enjoyed kayaking and saw some dolphins while we were out, and soaking in the in room hot tub was exactly what we needed! The only negative was the beds, but that’s just a personal preference because I like a really soft bed. Everything else was absolutely perfect and we are already planning future vista!

Amazing, short, stay. The property was nice, the room was cute and cozy. I stayed in Serenity, and will come back! The spa tub/shower was so relaxing! Highly recommend!

I love this little place. Quiet, super cute style, very close to Roger's Park and Weeki Wachee State Park. Comfortable bed, big TV, coffee pot, microwave, toaster, cute little waffle maker, plates, glasses, utensils, cute little mini fridge. Loved it, I will be back.

It was adorable for a 2 night stay for my daughter and I while doing Weeki Wachee Springs. Of course it's an old building but the updates over top of the "quirks " are even cute.

Great Place to stay

This was a great find for us and we will be back. The room is nice and well set up. Neptune's is located in a great setting among nature. Having the free kayaks is a nice touch considering the proximity to the beautiful waterways. The trip out on Cortez blvd is scenic and the pier at the end is a great sunset spot.

Super cute and Cozy

This was a little gem for a weekend get-a-way! The room was clean and decorated very retro and cute! Large shower and jacuzzi tub was amazing after kayaking on the river! A few local restaurant close by. Everything you want for a nice chill weekend !

Loved this cute little place... Perfect setting and atmosphere. I'm not sure about the showers in the other rooms ours was very small. Loved all the homey little touches, and decor accents. Also loved that it was not a chain hotel for more money and bad reviews. We defiantly hope to stay here again. Thank you so much, so glad to have found this pearl!

Fun, Vintage, Mermaid Motel

What a fun little vintage motel! I stayed in the Vintage Mermaid studio (right on the end) and it was adorable. This used to be a fish camp and the floors slope in the back where they used to hose out the rooms. The motel is right on a creek/canal and there is lots of wildlife. I saw manatees! You can use the kayaks on site. Everything is included except no wine corkscrew (I borrowed one from the onsite housekeeper) or hairdryer. The location is perfect for day trips to Weeki Wachee state park and there are great casual restaurants nearby.

This place is the friendliest little getaway on the Gulf side. The Rooms are on the smaller size but very clean and modernized. The management, Tab and John, are great people and are available 24-7 if you need anything. John knows the rivers and will give all of the tips and tricks needed to safely travel the canals on the kayaks that they provide. You can even rent little motor boats or pontoon boats at the best rates that we have seen. Restaurants of all kinds are within a very short drive or you can even boat to several of them. This is definitely not your typical "in the hustle and bustle" of tourism but shopping and water parks are all within minutes if that's what you want. Highly recommended if you are looking for an escape.

Mermaid Theme and Nice Ambience

Everything about this place was absolutely amazing. Very tucked away. Very quiet. There is free kayaking on site and that was really nice. There's a mermaid theme throughout which was kind of cool as well as retro appliances, which was a nice touch. There are a few downsides as it is an older motel. The room I stayed in was close to the highway so I did hear cars and construction in the morning. That's probably won't affect you if you're in one of the rooms farther from the end at night, if there's not much traffic though, it won't be an issue. There's a park style grill on site. Would be better to bring your own grill. Very limited hot water was not able to take more than quick few minute shower my entire stay. But I'm sure this is due to older plumbing . Overall I would stay here again .

Nice little getaway place

We were looking for a nice inexpensive place to stay overnight for an event we were attending. I found Neptunes grotto was nearby and the price point is great. The location is right on a canal with a boat dock, very Florida living and very easy to find. One problem for us was the lack of parking. When we arrived there were no regular parking spaces available for us and the lot would not have accommodated our truck and trailer anyway. We had to park on the side of the street, keep this in mind if you are driving a larger vehicle or pulling any kind of trailer. You wont fit. Our room was super cute with its mermaid decorations and it had all the essentials we could have needed. Check in was simple, the door code was emailed to us the morning of our stay and it was easy enough to access our room. The room itself was clean and well kept up. We did notice a slight lean in the floor which can be tricky especially in the bathroom. Our biggest complaint was the very very firm mattress. It was not comfortable and both my husband and I did not get a good nights sleep because it felt like sleeping on a plank. Mattress firmness is a personal preference so it may not bother others like it did us. It would have been nice to have it be a little more comfortable. Overall this place is great, it suited our need for the night and was budget friendly. The area was quiet and felt safe.

Slanted room floor

The vintage mermaid room was very cute and clean. The price was right because of the use of the kayaks. The host was accommodating upon arrival. A couple of issues could be improved; too many vehicles parked that were not people who stayed at motel but appeared to be people renting boats, kayaks etc., this made the little property & waterfront sand area impossible to enjoy because of people coming in and out making it feel less private or quiet. Was hoping to enjoy a quiet morning sitting outside to sit near water, but too many people. As for the room, the decor was very cute. My main complaints were getting the ac to be the right temperature, that it blew on us while in bed and the worst part of the room was the slanted floor in the bathroom and bedroom. One of the bed legs had a piece of wood under it and the other legs under the bed on the floor slant side did not have wood under it making sleeping very uncomfortable in a slanted bed. I had read a previous review about the floor slant but didnt think it would be a problem, but since the bed was affected i was not comfortable at all. The bathroom was the same walking in and out on a slant, i had to hold on to the walls since i have balance problems. The door to the bathroom would swing open by itself if not closed all the way and covered the tv due to the slant. To be honest, it was really disappointing and made the stay unpleasant. Getting in and out of bed, walking on a slant to the bathroom and back, just weird.

Floors not level hard to walk on. No electricity by the bed for medical equipment. Very uncomfortable bed. Couldn’t stay had to leave after 1 night. After booking 8 nights. Said it was refundable at booking then change it to not refundable after leaving. It didn’t matter it was bad enough I would have forfeit it. It was that bad. I had the pay for another place. Gladly to get out of the muddy mermaid. They were able to book 3 of my nights so I got a 3 day refund.
