Great Getaway!! Relaxing Ocean Views

Shark Bait - This four bedroom, 2 bath house is a fabulous place for a family and/or friends getaway. Large deck with perfect seating for enjoying the ocean view on one side and a dining table for outside eating on the other side. A great family room where you can watch television, read, or play games. There is a private outdoor shower with hot and cold running water. Four bedrooms-3 queen beds and a twin over twin bunk bed. There is also a fish cleaning station and an outdoor charcoal grill.

We had a great stay. The home was clean and well kept, had all of the amenities we needed, and we loved the island. Would definitely stay here again!

Amenities poorly maintained. Property inside and in general needs a substantial amount of care. Shower floors had hair and scum, 2 of 4 drapes in living room were hung wrong side down on a rod that was disconnected and hanging in the center—had to climb a ladder to fix so drapes could be closed. These Drapes were dirty and stained. No drape in kitchen window so neighbors have a clear view in at night. Peeling paint and caulk throughout, ice maker was broken, frig was dirty outside and had melted then refrozen ice in a container. electric fireplace didn’t work, some light bulbs were burnt out and various places weren’t painted at all—bare wood. Some Furniture is old and beaten, some light fixtures were dirty and rusty. No lighting under the house, were car parks, so walking in the dark wasn’t fun. Even found an unspent (live) shotgun shell in the driveway next to steps. Entry door looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in ages. Can’t recommend this unit to anyone.

We came to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. We have been coming to St George for more than 40 years. Our stay here was perfect! Especially loved the spacious deck! We will definitely be staying here again!

The living space in the center part of the house was pretty awesome. The outdoor area deck behind the house was great! Great view of the water....and a great place to hang out. Very short and easy walk to the beach! All of the bedrooms in the house need a little update. Very basic mattresses. No night stands or bedside tables. There was paint peeling from the ceiling in the master bathroom. Just some little details we noticed could be easily fixed. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. I just feel like that house needs a little love. PS, The owner was great at communicating with us.

Just WOW!

What a phenomenal place to stay!! The perfect price the perfect location everything just perfect. We have been coming to the island every summer for almost 30 years. First as children and over the years as adults but always our mother and my siblings. We’re all grown now and this February we lost our mother. This will be the first year we gathered with out her.

We had an amazing experience at this VRBO! Communication with the host was prompt, clear, and incredibly helpful from start to finish. The property was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and well-stocked with everything we needed. You can tell the owners put care into the details. We felt right at home and would absolutely stay again. Highly recommend!

Amazing vacation

The property is great! The location is even better! With just a two minute walk to the beach, everyday was relaxing, easy, and fun.. the teens loved it so we will definitely return! The host was fast to respond with any questions as well.. thanks for a great vacation!

Great house

Prefect stay. House was clean. Very cute. Had everything we needed. Host was easy to contact and quick to respond. Lots of space for everyone. Super short walk to beach. Loved that it was pet friendly. Had a great time! Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Shark Bait Gets a 10

Wonderful deck with three seating options. NiceView of the ocean. Very breezy when we were there making enjoying the deck even easier! Great kitchen area with seating for 8 at the island. Nicely decorated. Kitchen had all "tools" we needed -- and we ate every meal, except one, there for the week. Would choose this one again!

Great Location

The home is a short walking distance to the beach access. Great location & plenty of parking. Home was clean. 2 towels, hand towel and face towel were provided on each bed for guests. Bring your own beach towels. Plenty of sitting area inside & out for hanging out or meals. You can hear the waves from the balcony at night. Two recommendations would be more/better lighting in the kitchen and a larger trash can. We would recommend and stay again.

Home Away From Home

We have had the pleasure of staying here at least four times before. It feels like home more and more every time we go. Short walk to the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. House is fully loaded and has everything. The host is awesome! Highly recommend you stay here for perfect beach vacation.

Perfect house for our family

With four bedrooms and an open floor plan, this house had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay! Heather was very helpful too! The decks out back with ample seating were a great place for sitting in the winter sun and catching up with our out of town family members. We would definitely stay there again!

Nice beach house for family

This house was great for our long holiday weekend. By far the best thing about the house is the back deck. It’s clearly new and updated - has 4 sitting/eating areas, tons of space, and like-new. Half of it is coverwd and there’s 2 large tables to eat. The main flooring inside was replaced shortly before we arrived and still needed some tidying up but didn’t affect our stay. The island wasn’t put back together so two folding tables with bar stools was our only indoor eating space (not very practical) but we didn’t really have a choice. For the age of the home, it was generally very clean. Shower curtains were overdue for replacement. There is no garbage disposal and trash can is pretty small but we made it work. Overall a very good stay and I would recommend to others!

A month in Shark Bait

My wife and I spent 4 weeks in Shark Bait. We had a great time, we love SGI so much and the weather was perfect. We went out to eat quite a bit (Paddy's, Blue Parrot, Beach Pit) but also fixed some meals and we had all the pots, pans and utensils we needed. The home is located in the East Gulf Beaches and is near the 11th street public access boardwalk. We used a beach cart to haul our gear back and forth. the boardwalk does not have steps, rather ramps at each end. This made it easy to pull our cart to the beach. We loved the deck, both the covered and uncovered sections. We spent many hours out there reading, working on puzzles, just relaxing. We ate some of our meals out there as well. Thanks Heather for a great month.

We had a great stay at Sharks Bait!!! Everything was as it said in the description. The walk to the beach very short. The house was very clean with everything we needed. Heather responded quickly to questions we had in a very timely manner. We had a day of rain and wind because of the hurricane but it gave us some much need relaxing with a book. I would highly recommended this rental. Plenty of room for at least 8. Thanks Heather for a restful week!!!

Family time

This was a great place a short walk to the beach. There is a big porch on the back with a sea view. Short distance to dinning and state park for hiking. Just remember to take bug spray if hiking. We love St George very quit and peaceful place to spend a week to unwind.
