Welcome to My Hideaway (OM #J4)!

A beautifully decorated 1 BR/1BA townhome, My Hideaway offers you the comforts of home for your escape to the beach, with modern conveniences at reasonable rates.

The master bedroom boasts a comfortable King sized bed where you can drift into a peaceful slumber as you listen to the nearby waves crash along the shoreline. A large sliding glass door opens onto a private balcony where you can revel in the sight of the Gulf of Mexico or the Apalachicola Bay! The master bedroom also provides privacy from the main living room and a flat panel TV for your convenience. A full bathroom is located just outside of the bedroom.

Downstairs from the master bedroom, you enter into the kitchen and dining area. The well equipped kitchen supplies all of your basic cooking needs and plenty of space to cook up the catch of the day! A dining table and 2 additional bar stools offer plenty of seating and a convenient washer/dryer is available for your use.

Peaceful colors in the living room allow you to unwind and relax into the beach atmosphere as you acquiesce into island living. A Queen sleeper sofa provides additional sleeping room when needed, with plenty of seating to accommodate everyone. A large, flat panel TV and DVD player will keep you entertained on any rainy days or you can curl up and enjoy a good beach read. The open deck with high top table is an excellent place to enjoy your morning cup of coffee as you take in the sight of Gulf of Mexico waters. Dolphin sightings occur often so you might even enjoy a show from the local wildlife! A single cot is available for sleeping an extra person, most suitable for a small child.

Less than two minutes will get your toes in the sand by way of the convenient boardwalk. First, you will find yourself at the gate of the large, community pool with lounge chairs, tables and umbrellas for your enjoyment. Also available is a large, spacious deck with 4 park style grills, a great place to meet other visiting families and share stories of your favorite Island experiences, things to do and places to eat!

A short stroll from the community pool leads you to the soft white sands and glistening Gulf waters of Florida’s Panhandle where you and your loved ones can enjoy the warm sunshine, play in the surf or work on that Florida tan! With miles of beautiful beach, you can wander into the nearby State Park or get lost in the other direction to watch the shorebirds and depending on the time of year, possibly a sea turtle nest!

A paved bike path accessible from the main road will take you into the Island center where you can enjoy local gift shops, restaurants and the great new Lighthouse Keeper’s Museum and reconstructed Lighthouse! Don’t forget to climb to the top and get a bird’s eye view of the Island!

Whatever your vacationing preference, you are sure to find it on St. George Island and My Hideaway is the perfect place to rest, relax and remember the simple pleasures in life.

You could tell everything was sanitized. All the comforts of home were provided. That bed... omg, that bed is so comfortable. Cooking was easy with everything possible supplied. Relaxing on sofa with pillows and large tv with all the channels. Some beach items were there. Chairs and small cooler. Pool was amazing with good lounging. Recommend to go across the bridge and get bag of fresh oysters and cook them poolside on the grill. Amazing time with the sound of the ocean. Very short walk to the beach. Not crowded. Very slow paced. Not touristy at all. I felt safe. Set up our tent on the beach in the morning. Could leave it to eat lunch and not worry that anyone was gonna bother it. We had breakfast and lunch in the condo and went to dinner most every evening. But could cook gormet meal in that kitchen. The only thing i would wish was provided would be a throw blanket for the sofa. We loved this condo and St George Island. We will be back.

This is the fist time we've come without our whole family so we needed something for just the two of us, this townhouse was perfect! Great location, less than a 5 min walk to the beach. Surrounded by beautiful well maintained grounds ans pool. The pool was really nice. Great view of grounds and pool from our balcony, enjoyed meals out there often. The bed and pillows were amazing and very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils, cookware and bakeware, however not a cooking supply (salt, pepper oil) in site. I know this is advertised or required but this is the first rental we've stayed at in SGI without those things. The a/c is also very loud when kicking on and off, but did work well throughout the unit. We would definitely stay here again as well as possibly different units in the complex. Very quiet and peaceful, hated to leave. We had two very minor appliance issues but Forgotten Shores fixed them quickly and efficiently with kindness! We have stayed with them before and highly recommend the company.

Killer Bed!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: So wanted to love this condo unit, which was so cute. It has everything you could possibly want, except a decent bed sadly. Both of us were not able to enjoy our time as much as we had anticipated because of the tropical storm weather upon arrival, so we thought why not enjoy sleeping in that first night. My husband never complains of back problems but actually tried switching the mattress around from foot to top, come morning. That did no good. I actually took pain medication to try to sleep on this killer bed and finally bunked out on the couch. Another person had reviewed this property and pointed out how awful the bed was, but I ignored their advice as I usually find that there is always a complainer among all of the good reviews. I wish I had heeded their warning and booked elsewhere in that complex. It was our anniversary, and we were looking forward to a great time at a great location on the beach. I truly hope the owner gets a new mattress or at least a mattress topper as this one is just plain worn out! Please take my advice.

Ideal for beach vacation with small kids

Two kids (4,7) and two parents very much enjoyed the quick (1 min) easy access to a pool and the beach at this property. Taking advantage of beach rental equipment was very easy (would recommend renting a cart to get items to the beach). Would stay again.

St George Island

I never knew this place existed until I came across it on an Instagram reel talk about a sleepy, quiet beach town, which is exactly what I was looking for. The condo was great. swimming pool was super spotless and crystal clear and only about a 200 foot walk to the beach, which is not heavily populated with visitors we saw a sea turtles laying eggs, crabs all along the shoreline. Water was clean no seaweed overall great experience management company actually let me check in about an hour early because I was coming from such a far distance. Lighthouse tour was very cool too.
