Trelonie is a traditional two-bedroom fisherman's cottage that sleeps 5 and is set in the heart of St Ives. It is well-equipped and comfortable, with the added bonus of a small courtyard out back for BBQ's and evening meals around a picnic table. Woofing guests are also welcome as long as they obey the house rules.
If you are looking for a glossy, 'boutique' accommodation, perhaps we are not for you. However, if you are looking for a traditional and comfortable cottage that is pet-friendly in the heart of St Ives, then we look forward to welcoming you.
The cottage's ground floor has a sitting room, kitchen, and bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. Just off the kitchen is shared access with the cottage next door to our private courtyard. This is an old-character cottage so the steps to the upstairs bedrooms may be a bit steep for those with mobility concerns. The first floor is where both bedrooms are. The first bedroom has a double bed, and the second has a triple sleeper bunk bed, a double on the bottom and a single bed on top. The single-top bed is more suited for children than adults.
We accept pets (Dogs), maximum of two for an additional fee of £35 each; we ask that they are not let up on the furniture or beds and that the towels provided are not used for pets. Also, we ask the pets are not left unattended in the property or the courtyard. Please don't let your pet use the back courtyard as a toilet.
Let's talk about parking. We do not have parking at the cottage. We are a few minutes from the Station Carpark or ten to fifteen minutes from the Island Carpark. Parking is usually not a problem out of season, but during the summer months, you may have to park up at the coach park at the top of town, but there is a footpath that leads back to town. We usually drop off our belongings at the cottage and then park up. You can purchase daily or weekly parking tickets, and there is an excellent bus service if you want to visit any of the surrounding towns. One more thing to note: the roads around St Ives can be pretty narrow, so be careful.
We are happy to take Short Stays (3 nights), but over the school holidays and the summer, we try to prioritise families looking for a week's stay first. Closer to the time, and we gladly accept a shorter stay if the cottage has not been booked.
From July to mid-September, we only accept 7 or 14-night stays, with a changeover on Saturdays.
From Christmas to New Year, we have a minimum stay of 5 nights.
Unfortunately, the rubbish collection in St Ives is just that – rubbish! As the streets are so narrow, there is no space for an outside bin. If you are in the cottage for longer than a week, we can arrange to collect the rubbish. If you do happen to leave rubbish on the property when you depart, there will be a £3 charge per bag. This is what the cleaner charges to remove them to the tip. I hope you understand.
The only thing to note here is that the courtyard has shared access with the next-door neighbour.
A digital guestbook will be sent 30 before your stay. This has lots of information about St Ives, Dog-Friendly places, and, most importantly, Cottage access information that will be sent 1-day prior to your site.
