  • Vista Grande is a five-bedroom, 3.5-bath home in The Gate neighborhood of St. Louis that sleeps 15 across three levels, about five minutes from Saint Louis University and about 10 minutes by car from the Gateway Arch and Busch Stadium. The space: The main level has an open living room with a piano, a dining table that seats 12, a half bath and a full kitchen with dishwasher, oven, stove, microwave, coffee maker, blender and bar seating. Upstairs are four bedrooms, a full bathroom and the laundry. Bedroom 1 is the primary suite with a king bed, a soaking tub, a walk-in shower and a TV. Bedroom 2 has a twin bunk bed with a trundle and sleeps three. Bedroom 3 has a queen bed. Bedroom 4 has a twin bed. The lower level is Bedroom 5, a studio suite of about 1,000 square feet with two queen beds, a futon sleeper and a chair sleeper, a kitchenette, a foosball table and its own full bathroom. Comforts: in-unit washer and dryer, 250+ Mbps Wi-Fi, a dedicated workspace, smart TVs with cable, central air and heat and ceiling fans. Families: a high chair, pack 'n play, stair gates, outlet covers and children's books and toys are provided. Outside: a fenced backyard with a patio, a covered two-car carport and an EV charger. Parking: free parking at the house plus free street parking. Dogs: welcome for a $75 pet fee, up to 2 dogs. Location: Saint Louis University about 5 minutes by car; Topgolf, Tower Grove Park, Lafayette Square and Soulard a short drive; the Gateway Arch, Busch Stadium and Ballpark Village about 10 minutes; Lambert Airport about 20 minutes. Well suited for: multi-family trips, groups of friends, sports and medical travelers who want one large home with separate floors. Beautiful new home with plenty of space for family

JZ vacations were a pleasure to work with. They were responsive and helpful before and during our stay. The home is absolutely gorgeous with plenty of room for everyone. The basement is a little apartment all on its own. We were in town for lacrosse tournaments and it was nice to come back, relax, cook a meal, shower, and do laundry each day!!

This place was the absolute best place I’ve ever stayed. We had a great time visiting family and celebrating our Mom’s 80th birthday. The photos doesn’t, do this place justice. Very beautiful, spacious and very, very clean. Thank you to the host for making my stay absolutely memorable.😀

SLU Graduation weekend

We had a large family group coming to our daughter’s graduation and this house couldn’t have been more perfect for our needs. The house was clean, very nicely furnished, very roomy with ample space for all of us to hang out together. I especially liked the long dining room table. The beds were comfortable and things like coffee and dishwasher soap and sufficient toilet paper for our 4 night stay were all included. One recommendation would be to put a mirror in each bedroom. The house was located in the South Campus area and a stone’s throw away from all the activities on North Campus. Our communications with JZ Vacation Rentals before during and after our stay were great. They consistently responded to our questions very promptly and politely. I would recommend this house to anyone.

We had a group of 11 women staying and we were all comfortable. There was enough bathroom space and bathroom towels for all of us. A few towels and cleaning cloths for the kitchen would have been appreciated. We did not have any issues parking and we had 3 cars. It is a beautiful home, very comfortable! Easy access for us as we were here for a tennis tournament and the Dwight Davis Tennis Center was very close! We had one question that we asked the host about and it was answered promptly!

House has great sleeping and entertaining space. It’s clean and beautifully updated on a quiet street. We booked it with the house next door for a group of 20 for an extended family gathering. One thing to be aware of —that is not clear from the listing— is that the property allows for a maximum of two cars parked on site. These are in parking spaces accessed via a narrow alley. The street the house is on allows permit parking only. The management company told us we might need to park additional vehicles several blocks away — challenging with babies and grandparents. However, the parallel street and perpendicular street allow parking and did not require permits. While not ideal, it wasn’t as bad as initially expected. Definitely something to plan for if booking the property for a large group.It could use a few more basics — I’d bring extra hand towels and more cooking serving ware if staying here again with a group.With those caveats, would highly recommend. The interior is lovely and thoughtfully designed.

Girl Scouts visit St. Louis!

Lots of Pro's and a few Con's;Property inside was beautiful - lots of space, easy to accommodate our large group. Kitchen was well stocked so we could cook and eat a few meals in the home. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were spacious. Two parking spots available in covered open air space, accessible from the alley. Little hard to park, but we figured out how to make it work. Our group had 12 people in it - again plenty of space to spread out. Nice that the kids could all hang out in the basement area and sleep in the multitude of beds down there. Some concerns;Towels were folded and in bathrooms when we arrived, but all were still damp (we assume they were hurried). Didn't have sufficient sheets to make the pull out beds. Quickly resolved issues with the property managers. One concern to potentially address - there is no way to open the garage door to park without someone entering the house from the front and walking thru the house/backyard to push a button. Thankfully we had multiple people in our group, but this would near impossible with a single individual, as street parking in front of the house is also not allowed.
