"We really enjoyed our stay at the Crown which is perfectly situated on the edge of the town centre, but still remarkably quiet even on the Saturday night. The room was very nicely decorated with a very clean and well appointed ensuite shower room. We did not eat in the hotel apart from breakfast but the menu looked good. Highly recommended"

The decor may make you feel as if you are in the game Cluedo! The breakfast is excellent value and the location on New Walk is so restful. Highly recommend! "

"We were greeted by friendly and professional staff, who assisted us with our luggage and accompanied us to our room. The room was clean and quiet. It was well supplied with refreshments and a hand-written welcome note. The bed was comfortable, quite firm but not hard. Dinner was excellent! There was a very good choice, each dish was delicious and service was friendly and efficient. Breakfast too was very good and well prepared. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again."

"Hi, there was litter in the foyer when we arrived and was still there when we returned later in the evening. NO TOILETRIES IN THE BATHROOM. NO TISSUES IN THE BEDROOM. NO COMPLIMENTARY WATER. THIS ROOM WAS£96!"

"Room was freezing cold. Had a little old fashioned heater we had to put on when we got into the room which took ages to heat up. The reception staff were friendly. The hotel was dead, I'm sure we were nearly the only ones there. The whole of the one side of the hotel we were in seemed to be freezing like they only heated the front half where the reception desk was. Rooms were big but very run down and old. We wouldn't stay there again. "
