The Old Farmstead

  • The Old Farmstead is a lovely historic home build in 1937. It has been renovated and refinished in 2021 without losing the charm of its origins. The house is completely surrounded by farmlands for a quiet and relaxing place to visit. It has unbeatable views of the Bitterroot Mountains, a breathtaking location to enjoy the sunrise and sunsets of the Valley.
    Centrally located it is only 7 miles for downtown Stevensville and 3.5 miles for the town of Victor. Only a 5 minute drive for a wonderful access point to the blue ribbon Bitterroot River.

This serene property was perfect forbour girls' trip! The views were beautiful. There is privacy, yet still a short drive to the lovely towns nearby. There is immense charm in this updated farmhouse. Yes, as others stated, there are some squeaky spots with the hardwood floors, but only noticeable on late-night restroom trips. We had no issue with having only one shower with four of us. We would recommend lamps in upstairs rooms. Otherwise, it was bucolic. (My friend came up with this perfect description!) It was so good for our souls and we'd stay here again! Lovely, lovely property!

Beautiful Bitterroot Retreat!

Loved our stay in this lovely farmhouse in a prime Bitterroot Valley location. Peaceful, private and serene and perfect as a home base and a place to hang out and relax. Hope to come back again and again!

Exactly what we needed

5 of us stayed in this beautiful home as our good friend was getting married nearby. The place was perfect, exactly what we were looking for. Plenty of rooms and beds, beautiful kitchen with everything you might need, and a gorgeous yard to enjoy. Thank you for letting us stay in this beautiful place.

An idyllic location!!

For anyone wanting an immersion into the beauty of Montana, this is so perfect. The house is an old farmhouse beautifully maintained. The light inside is so peaceful and inviting. The grounds are just gorgeous. This was everything we wanted it to be.

Wonderful Home

This was a wonderful home. We were greeted by our host who was cleaning up the yard after a storm which had just occurred. The home was clean, comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Bitterroot Gem

Beautiful stay. Clean, comfortable country setting. You can see what a labor of love the grounds are. Sunrises and sunsets were stunning. Wildlife around every corner. Hoping to make this stay again next season ❤️

The farmstead was an amazing property! We came to MT from TX to escape the heat and leave our home responsibilities to someone else, and we won big! The weather was lovely; the front patio saw hours of daily use; the fire pit at night was peaceful. The owner was friendly (not a corporate manager! a real property owner!) and there were working, family-owned fields surrounding the property. (It was hay-mowing season -- fascinating!) Our favorite things to do during our week-long stay: stay up late and sleep late; eat at interesting, nearby restaurants that satisfied our amateur-foodie palates; shop for used books; ride innertubes down the river; some fly-fishing, birdwatching, and easy hiking to beautiful overlooks; occasional visits from the owner's very friendly doggo. We cooked a little in a well-equipped kitchen. Breathtaking scenery, so many mountains, including a snow-capped mountain we could see from the patio.It's very likely we'll visit the Farmstead again! We loved it! (four adults, no young kids in our group)

Wish I could live in this home!

It was the cutest home! Loved the views and property. The recent updates were nicely done, and it was super spacious! It was the perfect place for bridesmaid and close friends to stay during my sisters wedding week. We had a little trouble/miscommunication with the lockbox/door code (it was updated at the property but not updated in the correspondence), but we figured it out. The next day we got locked out but the manager and owner were there to help us within minutes. Super friendly and quick to help! Highly recommend staying here! You’ll want to just sit outside and stare at the beauty that surrounds you - or cozy on up inside with a good book!

We will be back!

We needed a spot to stay that was near our aging parent’s place on N Birch Lane when we came up from Idaho to do some major property improvements. This place was pretty perfect! It is cute, clean, and super close for us to run back and forth. It had the exact number of comfy beds needed for our group - and those sheets are so soft! And the circular driveway was great for our large truck and dump trailer. And the highlight was seeing the two baby deer every morning! Our only complaint was that there is only one shower so we had to wait as we took turns cleaning up. I kind of missed that detail in the listing but even if I had noticed there was only one shower, I am positive we still would have stayed there. In fact, I am sure we will be staying there once a year when we come up to help out the parents.

Our stay at the Old Farmstead was fantastic. The property was beautiful and well cared for but still felt homey and truly charming. We could not have asked for a better place to stay while in town for a wedding.

The overall location was amazing…. Only one shower for 8 guests…. I missed that in the description, the floors were annoyingly squeaky, both upstairs and down and the coffee pit had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. A cooler would have been handy to use for the time and even a few beach type chairs…
