"Older hotel in need of decoration. However, very comfortable beds, clean rooms with mini fridge etc. Excellent service from the staff and a great breakfast. "

"The hotel is very “meh” for what you pay. The bed is just okay, and the pillows are HORRIBLE—plus there was only one per person, so I had to ask for more. There was a hair in the shower, and there was very little complimentary water. The only good thing is that the room was spacious, but overall it felt overpriced for what it is. The location is good, and the staff is pretty average."

"Surprisingly good service and amenities! First, the staff was genuine in their concern to do whatever they could for guests at all times. Very clean but small room with daily cleaning. We were skeptical about the promise of always available snacks and drinks, and of the crowd that might attract, but our concerns were happily unfounded. Great value on all counts. Lovely small outdoor terrace. Easy 30 minute walk to Douro and close access to lovely park and lots of cafe’s (try Eroica, cycling cafe just down the street) and restaurants. "

"Lovely clean room & staff were very helpful & friendly. The only complaint I would have is that there was a horrible drain/sewer smell in the bathroom of room 104 - not sure if this was coming from the toilet or the shower - didn’t complain to reception as I was hardly ever in the room but not a nice smell! Rooms were cleaned every day & clean towels & new shower gel provided daily."

"Staff was very professional, rooms were small but extremely well designed, did not feel small w/generous bathroom. we were only here for 12 hours but in a young neighborhood, seemed like chinatown with mostly Asian restaurants which were a welcome change from pasta & pizza everywhere. did not see any shops but did not explore this neighborhood due to our short stay."
